Anthrax is an infection caused by bacteria, it is rare and it affects animals like cattle, sheep and goats more than humans. People get anthrax when they get in contact with infected animals, wool, meat or hides. There are three ways to get anthrax, which are: • When people with cuts or open sores get in touch with the bacteria or infected animal • When the person breathes in spores of the bacteria • When a person eats infected meat.

It is diagnosed by: 1. Blood test 2. Patch test 3. Endoscopy
HOW IS ANTHRAX TREATED?
In most cases, early treatment can cure anthrax. The cutaneous form of anthrax can be treated with common antibiotics such as penicillin, tetracycline, erythromycin, and ciprofloxacin.
