This is a disorder caused due to deficiency of zinc and also due to congenital reasons. It is generally common in infants or those who have discontinued breast milk. They appear around the mouth, anus, hands, feet and scalp. They are red and inflamed patches of dry and scaly skin.

Treatment of Acrodermatitis includes total or partial replacement of zinc inside body. Cortisone based creams can help with irritation of skin and itching. Infections of Hepatitis B or Epstein Barr needs to be treated.
