Orbital and Optic nerve decompression treatment is a surgical procedure aimed at removing a portion of the bony canal (tunnel) which houses the optic nerve. The reasons for optic nerve decompression usually involve any condition which is threatening or causing visual loss because of significant pressure along the optic nerve near the optic canal.
