Egg allergy is basically an allergic reaction that the body triggers off due to eating eggs. It usually happens post a couple of hours after eating eggs and is a very common problem. Side effects and symptoms include throwing up, rashes in the body, feeling of swollen tongue and similar reactions that happens with common allergies.
HOW IS EGG ALLERGY DIAGNOSED?
The doctor takes a medical history and conducts a physical exam. He or she may also recommend one or more of the following tests:
• Skin prick test
• Blood test.
• Food challenge.
• Food tracking or elimination diet.
HOW IS EGG ALLERGY TREATED?
The treatment will be done with the help of Epinephrine injections in case the allergic reaction is extremely severe. Also, anti histamine drugs will be used to treat the mild symptoms of the allergic reaction.
