Presbyopia is an eye condition in which the eye slowly loses the ability to focus quickly on objects that are close. When a person is young, the lens in the eye is flexible and elastic and as a result, it can change its length or shape with the help of a ring of tiny muscles that surround it. With age, the lens slowly loses flexibility and stiffens. Therefore, the lens becomes unable to change shape and constricts to focus on close images. Some of the commons signs of Presbyopia include difficulty in reading small print, fatigue after doing close work, and squinting, among others.
