Silicosis is a progressive lung disorder that is caused due to the excessive inhaling of silica dust over many years. HOW IS SILICOSIS DIAGNOSED?
A general physician will recommend lung function with pulmonary function tests along with chest x-ray and bronchoscopy to diagnose the condition.
HOW IS SILICOSIS TREATED?
There is no treatment for Silicosis. Avoiding exposure to Silica is the only way to deal with the infection. People also need to quit smoking and limit exposure to irritants. Severe cases of Silicosis may need lung transplant
