Conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye, is caused by the inflammation of the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is a thin, transparent tissue that covers the white part of the eye. Symptoms of Conjunctivitis are:
• Redness in the white of the eye
• Increase in tears
• Thick yellow discharge that crusts over eyelashes during sleep
• Green or white discharge from eye
• Itchy or burning eyes
• Blurred vision and increased sensitivity to light

Diagnosis of the pink eye is easy with all these symptoms, yet some doctors may just generally examine the eye to check for damage.
HOW IS CONJUNCTIVITIS TREATED?
Treatment for pink eye includes ayurveda remedies along with eye drops. It has been seen that rose water and using ice water on the eyes helps in treating the same. There are also homeopathy medicines for this. Usually, ear drops suffices and you should make sure that you avoid touching the eyes constantly. Use a warm cotton compress to open the eyes if they shut tight.
