Sir I fall in love but girl left me. How to forget this girl from my mind. And I talk only 15 day.

It is important to accept this fact. Many girls will come and go in your life but that gives you more experience. After much deliberations one will stick by you and may be the more suitable match. If too many girls are leaving you, then you will need to check why they do so and learn some lessons so as to not repeat them. It looks like you are pining for her after the break up. Have you analyzed why you two had this fallout? If it your fault, then apologize and see if she is amenable. If not you may have done something quite unforgivable.Maintaining relationships is very intense, and the very thing that makes it attractive (the opposite sex and all its nuances), can also be its nemesis. You must learn what that difference was about your past relation and this particular one and find out how to live with a love relationship. There must be love, respect, commitment, honesty, trust, and freedom in the romantic scene. If however, this is final, then remove all associations of hers: gifts, notes, letters, cards, emails, and any reminders to get her out of your system, not just the mind. Keep the good memories but don’t indulge in them. Get back to your old pals and revive those contacts. Normally when we get a girl friend, we drop all our friends and live exclusively with her. This is not a good thing to do, generally. So do get back to them and get into good social circles. They will help you get over her. Do not talk ill or malign your ex to your friends, whatever was the reason. That is unfortunately a very bad habit many of us have – we must still respect her reputation and treat her with dignity. Do meet up with a counselor and talk about your feelings, openly. This is not the end of the world and she is not the only girl in life. You will find another but learn not to repeat the mistakes that led to the breakup. This time choose wisely and behave like a true gentleman.

The end of a relationship often feels like the end of the world. After all the time and energy you have invested in it, it is very painful when it gets over. Keep in mind that life is full of ups and downs; nothing is permanent. The pain you feel today will go away with time. Give yourself time to heal. Give time, time. In the meanwhile don't isolate yourself from your friends and family. Confide in someone you are comfortable with. Make a list of life goals, and plan how to achieve them. Relationships are an important part of your life, but they are not everything. Spend time with those close to you, indulge in some enjoyable activities. Keep yourself busy. Slowly you will see that there is a lot to life. However if you are feeling suicidal, consult a psychiatrist immediately. Don't wait to feel worse.

Good morning, Examination brings the best out of students and the stress that goes along with it brings out the worst. Everybody's stress is different and so is their ability to handle the stress which we as psychiatrists and many psychologists call resilience. Taking breaks after about 50 minutes of study will usually relieve the stress and fatigue. The other things that might need to be addressed may need an elaborate consultation and if you have the time for it step in to visit with a psychiatrist or psychologist and if you do not have the time, the wonderful team at Lybrate will help you achieve you goals. Look forward to hearing from you. If you need help with booking an appointment online with me on this website either text, audio or video appointment for a confidential and private consultation you may do so by contacting the help desk of Lybrate.

Hope I understood your question correctly- you wish to know whether depression can be cured with medicine and whether it will recurr if you stopped the medicine. In treatment of mental illness- we consider remission as the appropriate word instead of cure. Antidepressant medications are effective in treating depression into remission so the person's condition improves back to normal. If depression has a recurring pattern then stopping the medication may result in relapse of depression hence it is advisable to continue to take the antidepressant medication to prevent further relapse. If the condition only improved till 90% and had the condition for 10 years it means you will still need to continue the fluvoxamine. Hope that answers your question.

I have mild depression and have been advised to take c-pram. However the doctor has also asked me to take clonorest along with it. From practo, I have come to know that clonorest induces depression as a side effect. And it's for treatment of panic attacks which is not a problem of mine. Also clonorest causes dependency. So is it OK if I just have C-pram and not clonorest?

Hi lybrate-user, Clonorest (clonazepam, isa benzodiazepine) which if used on a regular basis can cause dependence. If it is indicated in your condition for example to improve sleep or reduce anxiety, I suggest that you only use it as and when required. Citalopram (c-pram) is an antidepressant and is the most important medicine for you totake and it has to be taken everyday. So to answer your question- if your depression is mild and not troubled with insomnia or anxiety symptoms then taking citalopram alone should be sufficient. However, like I would always advise- please discuss with your own psychiatrist so he is aware of what your concerns are about medications and therefore can suggest what is best for you.

Hi lybrate-user. In treatment of depression you may find medications called antidepressants beneficial and psychological therapies. Most antidepressants have similar efficacy data from research. There are certain suggestions that I wish to make 1. Stick to one psychiatrist, who you think you have good rapport with, as moving from one to another is not of much help. 2. Any one antidepressant medication should be given ample time at optimal therapeutic dose for it to work for instance 4 to 6 weeks. If one medication doesn't work after trial for adequate duration then can change to another one. Or sometimes augmented with a different medication. 3. Try adding psychological therapy and practical problem solving. If depression is severe and not responding to the above measures severe ECT may be tried or in some centres rTMS is available.
