Snoring is an extremely common condition mostly found in men, especially in the ones suffering from overweight. There are various factors which obstructs the airflow through nose and mouth. These factors include sinus infection, allergic reaction, nasal polyps, enlarged tonsils, adenoids, poor throat & tongue muscle tone and long soft palate. HOW IS SNORING DIAGNOSED?
Diagnosis of Snoring is done during sleep tests. Somnologists evaluate your symptoms and medical history during diagnosis. Your sleep and snoring pattern may be observed at a sleep center during a sleep study. If any airway obstructive disorders are suspected, then a ear-nose-throat is consulted to locate the cause of Snoring.
HOW IS SNORING TREATED?
Snoring devices are provided to such patients along with special pillows. They are advised to sleep on the sides to avoid snoring. Also, certain remedies like having relaxing tea prior to bed, soothing music and similar rejuvenating methods are suggested to reduce the problem of snoring.
