Dentist - Specializes in Treatment of Dental Abscess
Dental Abscess is a painful swelling that happens around the gums and your teeth area because of infestation of bacteria. It is accompanied with some pus filled fluid at times too. The most common symptoms here include pain along with trouble swelling, bleeding from the gums and oozing out of this pus-like liquid.
HOW IS DENTAL ABSCESS DIAGNOSED?
A dentist can determine by physical examination if there is a drainable abscess. X-rays of the mouth may be necessary to show small abscesses that are located at the deepest part of the tooth.
HOW IS DENTAL ABSCESS TREATED?
The treatment generally includes making an incision or a cut in order to drain the abscess and clean the periodontal pocket. A root canal treatment may be required to remove it in very severe cases, while cases of recurring infection may require surgical intervention.
