Hi. I had removed my braces (1.5 years I worn) on 13-05-2017. Doctor has taken measurement for retainers. But still not fixed. I was showing in Dental practice college. My question is how long time I can sustain without retainers? Is there any time to put it after removing? Or I can put it any time after removing? Or is it necessary to wear? Pls suggest?

I have chronic bad breath issues. I have been to dental clinic and all seems fine. Need help now what to do or where to approach.

BDS
Dentist, Jodhpur
Bad breath, technically known as halitosis, may occur due to several reasons. Most common cause is bad oral hygiene. If you r maintaining good oral hygiene than other reasons could be related to your stomach and intestines. Bad breath may also result due to acidity in stomach or may be due to constipation. Dry mouth can also be the reason. So consult your dentist and physician for the needful. Drink plenty of water and have more of juicy fruits.

Kindly consult an oral & maxillofacial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray, tmj open & closed mouth) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Until then have soft diet. Replace posterior teeth if they are missing. Advise mouth opening exercise & side to side movement for the jaw muscles or the use of anti-inflammatory medicines and painkillers. For people who grind their teeth or clench their jaw, a bite-appliance may be made which corrects the way in which the jaw works and reduces the stresses and loads on it. This can be disposed of when normal function is restored. As oral & maxillo-facial surgeon, may be required to perform surgery on the tmj. You may consult me in person.

Hello doctors, im suffering from severe tooth ache (last tooth on left bottom), I did visit a dentist earlier who advised extraction as the tooth is beyond repair (root canal) now. I could not get it done as I had to urgently leave for company project. Im in a rural area right now without any good medical facilities nearby. When any decay is there. your pulp dies n pus n gas formed inside the tooth which exert pressure on your periodontal ligaments. Which causes inflammation. Until n unless source of infection is removed you will not get relief. Because you have to release that pressure. That's why medicines will not work un many cases. You can try tablet ultracet for time being n visit dentist immediately for treatment. If you do not have time atleast let him punture your tooth so gas can be released. You will b fine second day after that.

Hello, take Belladonna 30 Ch , 3 drops thrice daily. Take BC no.18 , 5 tabs twice daily. Home remedies :- Guava: Unripe guava is rich in Vitamin C and is a styptic agent. Chewing raw guava arrests formation of pus in gums and is an excellent home remedy for Pyorrhea. Lemon is rich in Vitamin C. Lemon strengthens teeth and helps in preventing inflammation of gums. Regular use of lemon is an excellent home remedy for Pyorrhea. Revert me after 7 days.

Frequent bad smell gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. Kindly consult a physician & dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Yes clicking sounds while opening and closing jaw may be due to temporomandibular joint displacement. Give rest to your jaws, eat soft food, give hot compress over the jaw and take anti inflammatory medication to reduce pain and inflammation. Consult a dentist to get yourself examined for the same. Do not delay as it can cause further damage.
