Hello lybrate-user, knee pain occur after 30-35 are due to degenerative changes in bone. It may be due to osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. So consult a physio and learn some strengthening exercise and start doing it guided by them. From xray images and symptoms of patient we can come into conclusion either it is due to osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. So in both the condition knee strengthening exercise plays important role. There are also ultrasound, ift, swd modality available in physio setup to get you releive from pain. So it would be better if you visit a nearby physio and start doing exercise guided by them. There isn't particular food to avoid for knee pain, but if you are overweight then you have to take care of your diet. Because as much your weight increases all weight will transfer to knee so it is better to keep maintain your weight. It is better to take calcium rich food such as milk, paneer, curd etc.

Ankle stretch calves get a custom made insole. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation. Knee core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Hi vitamin d is important for all mostly women, pregnancy, lactation, old age etc more required. For you take normally by foods like dairy products, organic protien based foods, egg, milk, fish, stem based vegetables, fibre rich all cereals, banana, curd etc.

I am 24 year old female, I have low back pain with multiple lumps in lower back (both sides of spine above hip bone )from the past 2 years. I have visited 2 orthopedic doctors ,after seeing LS spine x-ray doctor said there is no problem with my spinal discs and they advised me to change my seating position when I asked about the lumps they told it was a fatty lump but x-rays doesn't reveal those lumps. I am doing physiotherapy exercises to relief my pain. I am feeling a pain in my lower hip area and spine when I sit for long time and I can feel that those lumps are pressing my nerves and restricting me to bend or stretch. I am scared of those lumps. Kindly help me to have a complete relief from this problem.

Advice hot fomentation. Gentle stretching of hand muscles. Ball exercises. Wrist exerciser. Regular stretching of shoulder muscles. Warm up and cool down is a must.

This is inadequate information rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Physiotherapy usually helps any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. It may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Kindly do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

If you have leg pain then you have to rule out the casues for having leg pain. First of all check your weight and your haemoglobin levels, as Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having leg pain though there are no issues with the knee joint or back pain. If not if the pain radiates down the back of thigh and legs then it might be due to sciatica. Kindly consult the nearby physiotherapist. Hope you recover soon from the leg pain.

I am having a serious pain in my right shoulder and tricep, not while pressing it but when I lift my arm it pains a lot, I did my gyming and right after that badminton, so when I play badminton and get in position of smash shot, it pains like hell, and its been there for 2 weeks as of now, I have taken painkillers and all sorts of medicines, it wont help, please advice.

I will advise you to take rest which means slowing down of physical activity till pain subsides, ice packs, anti inflammatory medications, physical therapy, gradual return to sports once you are pain free with initial pre activity stretches, and gradually increasing your activity levels as per pain tolerance. Hi, May be the area got hurt and now the colour has turned black, visit a nearby doctor to see that area for right diagnosis to be made. Meantime, if it's because of an injury and there is blood clot over the area, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica twice a day and take Arnica 30/ thrice a day daily for 1 week. Revert.

Hi, I am 22 years old and met with accident on 17 May, due to which I broke both the bones of my right leg and got operated. Now m having 2 plates in my leg and lot of staples. I am worried about removing the staples. Also what to eat so that I will not get any infection in that.

Skin staples are removed easily in the outpatients department. Its not as painful as the fracture you had in the first place anyway. As far as diet is concerned eat a balanced healthy diet rich in calcium. Diet does not cause any infection. Smoking and alcohol should be avoided at all costs.

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Swing 20 times morning and evenings. Identify the gap between the ankle bone and the tendons and give pressure with your fingers on either side of the ankle for 3 minutes 4 times a day this will relieve your problem. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

As arthritis is very common that you get generally bilaterally. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. It looks like you are anaemic. That's the reason the knee goes for genu recurvatum which is nothing but backward bowing of legs. This can be prevented by wearing knee brace to support the knee from going backwards while you walk or climb stairs. Check with your haemoglobin levels and also with your calcium & vitamin levels in your body by consulting a general physician.
