If diet is taken in proper manner it will maintain health and can even curb diseases but if taken in an improper way it may be the causative factor for disease as Mithya ahara (Improper diet) is said to be one of the causes for the occurrence of diseases in Ayurveda. Thus ayurveda has laid emphasis on taking proper diet and a lot of information about it is available in Ayurvedic classics. By adopting Ayurveda diet plans one can enjoy a healthy body, mind and soul. This section will deal with the various aspects of diet as per Ayurveda.

The Importance of Six Tastes in Ayurvedic Diet :

Ayurveda recognizes six tastes and it's quite important to have all of these 6 tastes in your diet every day. The six tastes are:
Sweet sugar, honey, rice, pasta, milk, etc.
Sour lemons, hard cheese, yogurt, vinegar, etc.
Salty salt, any salty food.
Pungent chili peppers, cayenne, ginger, any hot spice.
Bitter leafy greens, turmeric, lettuce, etc.
Astringent pomegranate, beans, lentils, etc.


These six tastes are listed in the order they are digested in your body.Sweet gets digested first, that's why it's not a good idea to have a dessert at the end of the meal. Salad should be taken at the end of the meal.Cravings are often caused by not having all of the six tastes in your daily diet. Many people often omit the bitter and astringent tastes.When you have something bitter or astringent at the end of a meal, it actually reduces your desire for sweets.

Usually if the process is complete and without major problems then it doesn't effect the future pregnancies, but incomplete abortion or other complications in abortion can delay conception next time.

One’s pregnancy is a time when one must be extremely vigilant about a proper diet and good exercise regime that will benefit the child and mother in equal measure. A balanced diet during pregnancy and enough of it is essential for your child to develop and grow in a healthy manner. You need to up your daily intake by 300 to 350 calories per day. Women carrying twins require 500 calories extra each day. Despite the fact that nausea during the initial months of pregnancy can make this troublesome, try to eat a properly balanced diet and take prenatal vitamins.

Here is a guide to a healthy diet during pregnancy:

  1. Eat a variety of food items to get a good amount of the nutrients, which your body requires. 3 main meals and 3 small meals should be taken each day.

She is likely to be suffering from PCOD, which can be easily diagnosed by ultrasound and blood tests. Primary objective of her treatment is weight reduction and maintain normal BMI of 18-25. This will regularize the monthly cycles and also help her get pregnant. You can take Metformin to reduce weight. You don’t need to take any medicine till 3 months for the menses to come. Only after 3 months of missed menses you should take medicines like progesterone Tablet (Deviry 10 mg twice a day for 5 days) for getting menses. For reducing your weight you should have brisk walk or jogging for 4-5 km daily, high protein diet (fish, chicken, mutton without fat, pulses, mushrooms), low carbohydrate diet (avoid rice, chapatti, bread, poha, upma, idli, dosa, potato, sugar etc and can use bhakri instead) and low fat i. E. Less oil and preferably use rice bran oil.

The delay in periods is common after taking emergency contraception. However most women get their period within 7 days of expected date. Your period may also be heavier or lighter than normal. If you do not get your period within 21 days or if you think you could be pregnant, get a pregnancy test done.

Hello, You are supposed to start low dose oc pills from day 2 of your cycle and daily to stay protected during the cycle. You cannot start it by mid cycle on 11th jan. The best way now would be using condoms.

Obviously you are under stress after the mtp. You can meet a doctor for treatment of anxiety. There are many safe medicines to cure you present mental condition. Also, microcephaly does not happen everytime. Go for torch test to see if there is any infection which you can get treated for. Alcohol and drugs are not to be consumed. Along with dengue, mosquito bite can cause zika virus infection, which is mild, but during pregnancy it is being suspected as cause of microcephaly. Be aware of such issues before you try for pregnancy again. There is good hope, so you can look forward to the future. Sleep will come automatically.

Hi Doctor, I am 25 years old female. I am trying to conceive for last 2 years. I have PCOD problem. 10 months back I was pregnant with the help of hcg injection. But unfortunately it was got miscarried after 5 weeks. My doctor suggested me to take Duphaston 10 mg tablet for day 16-day 25. My 2 cycles are over after taking this treatment (Feb 2017 & March 2017). But no luck yet. This is my 3rd cycle. I do not have another health issue. I am 2 years I had sex with my husband on 24th march and eat ipill within 24 hours and after 6 days I bleeded very lightly for one day. Now its 7 may I didn't received my periods and I did three pregnancy test all negative. Can I be pregnant? why my periods are late.

Ur periods may be delayed due to the effect of ipill. If you had not had any inetrcourse after ipill then its highly unlikely tht you r pregnant.

Today we visited gynecologist. She said do not worry no problem some time its happened also suggest me use condoms during intercourse. But my wife use ocp then she said use condoms few days than when everything normal you both decide which precaution you want to continue. MY wife not much happy with condoms. So what can I do now? Use extra thin condoms for time being, once her irritation in vagina subside you can continue having see with out condom. Also when ever you have set with out condom ensure adequate lubrication by proper foreplay or you can use a lubricant jelly. Nothing to worry.
