I have migrane what is the best medicine I take naprosyn 500 But it won't help please also let me know some home remedies. Thanks

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
Why you are using Naproxen 500 for headache? Do you get any result? Migrain is a special category of headache most of them are cured or if not in some few, at least it can be brought down to bearable limit as any one have fewer time in life. I need little detail before going into treatment. How long you are having such headache? What is your occupation - a working lady or home maker? Do you have any other disease like high blood pressure, Diabetes etc? Since when you discovered that this is bothering you and when it started (what age). Do you feel nauseating (feeling like puke) or do vomit during head ache? Does the ache catch one particular area of your head or whole head? Do you have any sinusitis or eye problem? With answers of all these Qs you please comeback to my Private Q area to have a purposeful dialogue to provide you benefit. You wont have to pay anything for coming to private Q area. I want to be useful for your problem.

You Might Be At Risk Too! Know Your Chances Of Developing A Brain Tumor
Symptoms you might have a brain tumor

Brain tumour at times displays warning symptoms and at times, none. The tumour pressing on to any specific part of the brain is becoming common symptom. A tumor could be a simple headache, if it persists and doesn't seem normal, it should be tested by a specialist rather than resorting to home remedies.

Here is when you must get tested for a brain tumour:

1. Severe headaches: headaches which are at their worst early in the mornings or after any activity.

2. Many people experience seizures of different kinds. It includes:

A. Myclonic - which are single or multiple spasms, jerks and muscle twitches
B. Tonic-glonic - which shows signs like loss of consciousness, loss of body function control, and not being able to breathe for about 30 seconds and turning blue which is followed by weakness, numbness or sore muscles.
C. Sensory - which is a change in smell, vision, hearing and/or sensation. The person doesn't lose consciousness in this symptom.
D. Complex partial - where a person may have lose of awareness. Another symptom is partial or complete loss of consciousness.

3. Changes in memory and personality.

4. Vomiting and/or nausea

5. Unexplained fatigue

6. Other very specific symptoms of brain tumour might look like these:

A. Change in vision. This could include partial loss of vision or double visibility.
B. Numbness or weakness of face muscles and difficulty in swallowing.
C. Headache caused due to pressure on the tumour.
D. Changes in motor skills and loss of judgment.
E. One major symptom is where people are simply unable to look upwards.

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Complete resolution is no possible in case of migraine as far as I am concerned. But tablet like flunarizzine and propranolol may reduce the frequency and duration of attack. Kindly consult a nearby physician and ask for these medicines. I am sure he will help you out after a proper examination.

I have a obstructive sleep apnea problem and have been using CPAP machine for last 3 years. How can I sleep without CPAP machine and what should I do for the same? I tried to sleep without CPAP machine but I awake frequently at night and feeling sleepy all day.

DNB(Respiratory Diseases), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Jabalpur
The best treatment available to manage obstructive sleep apnea (osa) is cpap. You are using it for 3 years now, itself is an indication that you feel benefit by using it, so why do you want to leave it and try other therapies, which are usually not very effective for osa. Not taking treatment for osa for a long time can have detrimental effects on health. I suggest you keep using your cpap machine, and also get evaluated periodically with your sleep specialist for seeing the latest situation of your condition and pressure changes that may be required if any.

Good Afternoon ~ Multiple Sclerosis (MS) can be a very debilitating condition and having had it for so many years and being on medications she may have had some discomfort treated, however there will be gradual progression and the epileptic attack may have been related to her Ms. I believe that I need to review her reports before I can give you any answer with regards to her physical health or suggest medications.
