Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do stretching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you don't get relief see a physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

It is better to avoid tamarind in the food rather to add lime or mango. And also avoid eating fried foods. Take more anti oxidants in your food like fresh vegetables, boiled vegetables, boiled meat, water content vegetables which reduces the toxins from the body.

If your height is 5 feet and weight is 77, so the main problem is your weight. Deficiency of vit B12 is also one of the most common cause for this problem. You should have to loose some weight. Can also use Ayurvedic remedy दसमूल क्वाथ 10 ml two time in a day, for it.

I am 74 years old. I had my total knee replacement on 2nd Feb. Although I have been doing physio regularly, I still have considerable pain. How long does it take usually for the pain to subside?

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Do take ift and vacuum therapy physiotherapy treatment for pain relief for 12 days followed by strengthening exercise from neuro physiotherapist apply hot and cold water fomentation for thrice a day for 10 days regularly at home do revert back for further assistance best wishes.

Leg exercise kijiye daily I hope you will fit and fine. Basic Leg Exercises The following Basic Leg Exercises should generally be performed 1 - 3 times per week provided they do not cause or increase pain. Ideally they should not be performed on consecutive days, to allow muscle recovery. As your strength improves, the exercises can be progressed by gradually increasing the repetitions, number of sets or resistance of the leg exercises provided they do not cause or increase pain. Swiss Ball Squats Begin this leg exercise in standing with your feet shoulder width apart, your feet facing forwards and a Swiss Ball placed between a wall and your back (figure 1). Slowly perform a squat, keeping your back straight. Your knees should be in line with your middle toes and should not move forward past your toes. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Lunges Begin this leg exercise standing with your back straight in the position demonstrated (figure 2). Slowly lower your body until your front knee is at a right angle. Keep your front knee in line with your middle toe and your feet facing forward. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Hip Abduction Sidelying Begin this leg exercise lying on your side in the position demonstrated (figure 3). Keeping your back and knee straight and foot facing forwards, slowly take your leg upwards tightening the muscles at the side of your thigh / hip (abductors). Hold for 2 seconds and then return to the starting position. Perform 1 – 3 sets of 10 repetitions on each leg provided the exercise is pain free. This exercise can be progressed by adding an ankle weight to your ankle for increased resistance.

Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

It may be due to wrong sitting posture. Correct your posture whether you are sitting or travelling in a vehicle (2 wheeler). Also do hip rotation in the morning. Oil massage and fomentation will also help press the point on the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from toe in the foot 20 times by pressing and releasing with a blunt edge of a pen. Further rotate your foot clockwise and anticlockwise 10 times. Massage your leg with both hands.

Hi it is possible to prevent neuropathy in your feet. Here are some tips to help you live a healthy lifestyle and prevent damage to the nerves in your feet: +rule out diabetes, vitamin b12 +eat plenty of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and lean protein. +exercise regularly. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. +be aware if you are sitting or standing in a cramped position; move around or shift often. +avoid repetitive motions; if possible, change your routines. For example, swim one day and run the next. +discuss new diets and exercise programs with your doctor first. Best wishes.

Yours is a chronic problem. In such muscular pains you need to see for some aggravating factors. After doing some particular things you start feeling pain or it is throughout the day persists. Thorough examination is needed for your condition. As sometimes bad posture leads to tight muscles which later on changes the biomechanics of your joints. Resulting in painful movements. Consult a physiotherapist.

you may have arthritis in knee. You need mri scan of your knee for better diagnosis. In between please do ice application and quadriceps -hamstring strengthening exercise.
