Lybrate-user ji I think you have some injury to your knee while playing. First of all stop playing kabbadi. Give rest to your knee. And take some analgesics. Hopefully you should be alright in a week or so.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

My wife, aged 45 years, is suffering from osteoarthritis and is having acute pain on the right leg now. She had this problem initially on her left leg since the delivery of her second child and has been diagnosed as the above condition and was under medication (both ayurvedic and allopathic) for a few months till the pain got subsided. As this problem persists, we have already consulted with an orthopedic about the nagging pain and he has suggested a knee replacement surgery based on the x-ray images taken recently. We request an opinion from you on the alternative ways available (for instance, ayurvedic).

At 45 years it is unlikely that the cause of your wife problem is osteoarthritis. Her diagnosis needs to be confirmed by a proper evaluation by a rheumatologist. Please meet a good rheumatologist before going in for ant surgery. This is because in case her problem is due to some other disease other than osteoarthritis then she is likely to have problems in the knee again EVEN after surgery.

To loose weight: step 1-stop taking sugar & fat e. G. Ghee/fried stuff. Step 2 take a plate of salad before meals step 3 reduce no. Of chapatti gradually.

As Dr. Said you should take rest for 2 or 3 days take muscle relaxant with analgesic combination do stretching exe for calf muscles. Nd in addition to that if you r a chain smoker stop smoking nd if so you need to do dopler study of your leg below knee to c the blood flow. If it is less you need treatment accordingly. In addition chek your blood sugar if you r a diabetic pt you need to correct it.

Stress or work load or priority mismanagement may be cause for your forgetfulness! you have to find the cause and control it. Alcohol may cause above complaints if taken regular. Try having calcium suplementations.

If you divide food into two categories –

there are foods which are alkaline in nature and there are foods which are acidic in nature. Hi, Take tab. Shallaki 400 mg 1-2 tabs 3 times a day depending on the severity of the pain. Take Balarista 2tsf 3 times a day, mixed with equal quantity of water and Maharasnadi Khadha 2 tsf 3 times a day, mixed with equal quantity of water. Apply Rumalaya liniment to the affected joints and massage in circular motion for 10-15 mins and then take hot water fomentation. Avoid potatoes, sweet potatoes, sweet pumpkin, peas, channa, recently harvested rice, jackfruit, etc. Which aggrevate the pain. You can even undergo physio- therapy for 10-15 days.

Not all patients of joint pain need surgery. Most of them can be managed without joint replacement. Physiotherapy along with medicines helps rule out diabetes, vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind)1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do knee exercises. Gradually develop your walking & standing stamina. It may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.
