There no point to be worried the majority—at least 60 percent of lung nodules are not cancerous but but it's equally important to note that if a nodule is lung cancer there is still a good chance that it can be cured so no need to worry. Need to do certain investigation to find out the size, growing (cancerous) and non growing (non cancerous) like chest x ray, MRI, CT scan etc. The treatment of lung nodules varies widely depending upon the cause, whether they are related to infections, inflammation, cancer, or other conditions. Most benign lung nodules, especially those that are present and haven’t changed over a period of a few years, can be left alone and surgery could be another option for cancerous one. Consult a pulmonologist for the same.

I have serious sinus. Having cold problems often. How to get rid of sinus permanently?

DORL, MBBS
ENT Specialist, Faridabad
See every where in the body god has created protection along with the structures, when you damage that protective layer than you start getting trouble, the problem you are facing is due to lack of mucus and saliva in the mouth which helps in protecting mouth disease so often, to regain it keep yourself hydrated in this dry weather, take good amount of semi solids like shakes lemon juices, sugarcane juice, and lassie curds any of milk products like cold coffee, hot coffee, this will definitely help you.

Hi. I understand your concerns. Asthma is a common allergic problem causing cough, breathlessness and wheeze. It is not curable but can definitely be controlled so that you can lead a symptom free life. You will need to undergo pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis and also to assess the severity of asthma based on which treatment can be started. You need not have any food restrictions if your asthma is under control. Consult a pulmonologist for the same. Hope your questions were answered. Thanks.

I am 32, I guess I am having asthma I feel breathlessness very frequently I want a complete treatment I have fed up with it. Not sure whom to consult.

Certificate in Basic Course on Diabetes Management, CCEBDM Certificate in Diabetes, MBBS
General Physician, Pune
Asthma is a chronic health problem where wind pipes get obstructed and breathing out becomes difficult. Family history, allergic agents like dust, fumes, chemicals, pollens, change in atmosphere are some of the causes. You may have to be under regular care of your doctor. Metered dose inhaler and rotahalers as relievers and preventers are good , effective and safe. But you may have to use them regularly even if there is no attack. Swimming light exercise, breathing exercise in Yoga may also help.

I am suffering from dry cough from last 5 days. How to get relief from this problem and what medicine to use?

BHMS
Homeopath, Kolkata
Please take Bryonia 200 – once daily for next 3-4 days. Drink plenty of warm fluids. Drinking warm fluids helps to loosen the secretions in your sinuses so that your mucus flows more freely, making you feel better faster. Studies show that drinking warm fluids relieves cold symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, sore throat, and fatigue.

Hello, hello, homeopathic remedies for asthma are very effective and can cure asthma permanently. Homeopathic medicines are natural medicines and work by moderating our immune system which usually becomes overreactive in asthma. But I need to know more symptoms related to you as a whole. So that I can make totality of symptoms and prescribe you a better medicine. In the mean time take ars alb 30, 3 drops once daily and bc no. 02, 5 tabs thrice daily. Revert me with more symptoms.

What if I have latent tb infection? How can I keep from developing tb disease? What are tests for tb infection?

DNB(Respiratory Diseases), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Jabalpur
We in india usually do not treat latent tb, where as in american and european countries they may treat it also. The reason for it are: 1. Our 40% of population is infected with tb and treating 40% of the population is not a practical task. 2. Even if an individual takes treatment for latent tb, the tb disease is so common in the community that person may still again get tb infection from a tb patient in community. Taking a good diet, regular exercise, leading a stress free life, not smoking, living a spacious atmosphere are some of the ways of preventing tb disease. To detect tb infection there are two test 1. Mantoux/tuberculin test. 2. Interferon gamma release assays (igra).

My mom used to cough whole day and it is there very long time might be 5 years back. Only in winter or sometime she used to cough a lot. It's a dry cough. Even night she is not able to sleep because of this dry cough. Please advise.

M.D. Consultant Pathologist, CCEBDM Diabetes, PGDS Sexology USA, CCMTD Thyroid, ACDMC Heart Disease, CCMH Hypertension, ECG
Sexologist, Sri Ganganagar
Chronic dry coughs are usually caused by irritation from cigarette smoke, environmental irritants, allergies, postnasal drip, or asthma. Several chronic lung diseases also cause a dry, hacking cough. So get her allergy in vitro test as allergy is most common cause of dry cough in women.
