Dietary protocols for Fat loss

So hi guys, this is your very own dietitian and sports nutrionist Himanshu, and today we’re gonna talk about some dietary protocols for fat loss, right? So okay, dietary protocol for the fat loss.

What is the best diet you think? There is no best diet, okay? The best diet is in which you can sustain for a longer period, right? Talk about intermittent fasting, ketogenic diet, Atkins diet, or Paleo diet, or anything you want. Like, if you can’t stick to a diet, you really can’t lose weight, or gain weight. The most important thing when you are dieting is to stick to a diet for at least four weeks, okay? The best way to lose fat is do some intermittent fasting.

What is intermittent fasting? Like, intermittent fasting is a protocol through which we can lose weight, or I would rather say fat, which includes fasting for at least 12 hours…at least 12 hours to 20 hours, and you can eat your meals within one sitting, and complete your calories. That is the best way to lose fat. Apart from that, keep your protein intake high. Lower your carb intake, and moderate your fat intake. Remember, fat is the most important thing when you’re trying to lose fat. If you’re not eating fat, you might have some hormonal issues in the future.

So guys, remember, intermittent fasting, and the diet which you can sustain for a longer period is the best way to lose fat. So guys if you have any queries regarding fat loss or intermittent fasting, or anything, you can consult me on Lybrate.com, and we can transform your body. Digital India, healthy India.

Benefits of Fat loss over weight loss

So Hi guys, this is your very own dietician and sports nutritionist Himanshu and today I am going to share some valuable information with you. The topic for the day is weight loss vs. fat loss.

So weight loss ka matlab kya hota hain, jab koi insaan kaam khana khaake weight loss kare aur kapdo mein apne fit ajaye uska simple sida hisaab hain weight loss. When you talk about fat loss. Fat loss mein kya hota hain, when you eat a certain amount of food and particular amount of food through which you lose fat and preserved muscles, right.

There are a lot of differences between weight loss and fat loss. Weight loss means that you are going to have decreased energy number 1; fatigue number 2; you know lagging skin number 3, right. You will be out of focus from your work, number 4; you will lose muscle number 5; and yeah, you will look good in clothes but not when you talk off your clothes, right. Who wants it? Now if you talk about fat loss, okay. Fat loss will give you better energy, better skin, better hair; it will improve your athletic performance, right. And apart that it will burst up your serotonin levels which will help you to sleep as well.

Many people when they are on their fat loss journey or weight loss journey as you say. They make a lot of mistakes. They tend to eat anything but they become calorie deficit. And when people are on their weight loss journey, they tend to make a lot of mistakes, they eat some amount of food, and anything, and still be calorie deficit. That is the easiest way to lose weight. But that is not the way to lose fat. Jab aap weight loss kar raahe hota hai, aur jab aap khatam karteh hai aapke end stage pe tab aapki skin loose ho jaati hain, that means what you have lost is water, number 1; proteins through muscles, number 2; and a lot of other things.

Your immune system gets down, you hair starts to fall, number 2; and other things. If you talk about fat loss, you will preserve muscles. Jab aap fat loss karenge, tab aapki muscle tonicity bohut aachi hogi. If you talk about the skin tonicity it will be stretched out, and it will have a lot of benefits when you do fat loss.

So guys any queries regarding fat loss you can consult me on lybrate.com, digital India, healthy India.

Eating Healthy at Office - 12 Tips to Help You!

Eating Healthy at Office - 12 Tips to Help You!

Sitting all day in an air-conditioned cabin is what constitutes a 9 to 5 office for most of us. As such one tends to eat on unhealthy snacks that are available in tuck shops like crackers, chips, namkeens, and biscuits. The calories we consume are far more than the energy we expend, thereby making us pile on the kilos. Below given are tips on how to eat healthily during office hours.

Here are a few ways in which you can eat healthy in your office without compromising on your health:

  1. Pack your meals: Try not to leave home without packing food so that you do not depend on the vending machine or office food court. Try to cook your food early and pack your meals in advance.
  2. Dispose of the junk food in your office: The environment that you set up for yourself will specifically impact how healthy you are. In case you surround yourself with junk food, you will begin to lose your healthy mindset.
  3. Time administration: You know what to eat and at what time. Keeping in mind the end goal to get rid of an unhealthy eating practice, set a break timer on your phone.
  4. Keep meals and snacks consistent: Pack new fresh fruits or vegetables to avoid the late-day munchies or before-meal hunger pangs that can prompt you to eat junk snacks.
  5. Make healthy swaps: Switch your sandwiches to whole grain bread and lean meat; ask for mustard rather than mayonnaise; avoid the fries and potato chips and pick celery and carrot sticks to fulfill your snack longing.
  6. Drink more water: Take water or other calorie-free drinks at your work area. Flavor your water with mint leaves, lemon or cucumber.
  7. Try not to eat and work: Multitasking has been turned out to be dangerous to the waistline. Rather than distractedly chewing on a serving of mixed greens while you are chipping away at a proposition, put your work aside and concentrate totally on your meal.
  8. Keep a crisis stash: You can have a drawer in your work area loaded with healthy and solid snacks.
  9. Try to stay away from the vending machine: Focus on maintaining a strategic distance from the vending machine by making conversation with people or finding other distractions.
  10. Do not get rid of your absolute favorites: In no way, shape or form should you get rid of your absolute favorite food item. Try to savor it in small portions. If you completely try to avoid it, you might crave for it all the more, which could lead to you binge eating junk food when you are tensed.
  11. Maintain distance from mid-day slump: In case you choose to spend on a sugary food item in the cafeteria, try to discover an alternative, which is higher in fiber like a wheat cookie or a grain biscuit.
  12. Keep nuts handy: Keep snacks that are high in solid fats, fiber and protein at your work area. Eat nuts and seeds, low sugar and fruit granola bars.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

9 Amazing Foods That Boost Your Gut Health!

Dietitian,Nutritionist & Health Management, Sports Nutritionist, Health Coach
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Gurgaon

A healthy gut is what keeps our body up and running the healthy way, however, it is only recently that people have started thinking about their gut health consciously. It is a commonly known fact that our body is a complex structure, where everything is connected to each other and that is where a healthy gut fits in, as it is closely related with a number of functions performed by our body. An unbalanced gut health is closely related to problems such as autoimmune diseases, hormonal imbalance, autism, etc. Also, a healthy gut supports good gastrointestinal function.

So, it makes most of us wonder about the ways that can help maintain our gut health. Yes! There are a number of good bacteria that can help us in improving the health of our gut, which in turn will boost our digestion. And, if we make a conscious choice to eat foods that promote it, chances of an anti-inflammatory response may decline.

  1. Prebiotic power food: Prebiotic food contains ingredients like fiber that the intestine bacteria feast upon, creating byproducts that are fermented and hence, beneficial for the health. The most powerful prebiotic nourishments are almonds, asparagus, bananas, cereal, garlic, plant greens (particularly dandelion), kiwi, mushrooms, oats and onions.
  2. Probiotic power food: Rather than being cooked or eaten crisp, probiotic-rich food items are moderately cooked in such a way that the microbes get a chance to ferment naturally. These food items provide fiber to our gut bacteria. Some of them include curd, kimchi, carrots, green beans, beetroot, pickles and Greek olives, fermented soybeans and cultured dairy items.
  3. Whole oranges: Oranges are a blessing for gut health as they not only supply your gut with the desired amount of fiber but also keeps it well hydrated along with improved nutrient absorption. However, we should not consume too much of citrus fruits as excessive consumption can cause more harm than good to our gut health.
  4. Sourdough bread: This somewhat rough and chewy bread is made with a lactic corrosive starter that contains parts of lactobacillus, a type of microscopic organisms that includes good bacteria. And, when it comes to choosing the bread, sourdough is one amongst the healthiest choices available.
  5. Lentils: Lentils contain solvent fiber and are additionally a source of prebiotics that feeds our current valuable gut bacteria.
  6. Dark chocolate: The microorganisms inside our GI tract can productively ferment chocolate. These byproducts have been found to be beneficial, both for the well-being of the gut as well as for a sound heart. Search for dark chocolate with no less than 70% cocoa content and enjoy the bittersweet flavor.
  7. Pickles: Fermenting a cucumber into a pickle increases the benefits, loading the crunchy veggie with probiotics. However, not all pickles offer good bacteria, therefore, it is important to go for those that are made with saline solution i.e salt and water as opposed to vinegar.
  8. Sauerkraut: Another source of nourishment is called sauerkraut. It is also known as fermented cabbage and acts as a way to provide probiotic bacteria to the GI tract. Make sure to search for newly made sauerkraut, it can be easily found in the refrigerated section.
  9. Butter: Butter is a source of butyrate in our diets that occurs naturally. Dishes that contain butyrate have the potential to enhance the intestinal boundary function and improve general gut health. Specifically, the butter made from the milk of grass-fed cows.

Now, that it is clear, we must make an effort to include these foods in our daily diet and improve our gut health. In case of further query please do consult an expert & get answers to questions!

I have taken Vitamin D3 at evening. Is it true that vitamins not function after evening?
Hi lybrate-user, That's another myth that vitamins don't functions after any time. Our human body is really smart and capable of doing many things. Vitamin D refers to a group of fat-soluble secosteroids so just keep in mind that have it with a meal which contains fat. For example - Boiled eggs, omellete etc! Thank you!

Diet Tips To Keep Your Bones Healthy

Diet Tips To Keep Your Bones Healthy

A healthy diet is not only important for that toned waistline, but it also keeps your bones healthy. Two of the most important nutrients needed for healthy bones are Calcium and Vitamin D. Calcium helps in strengthening your bones while Vitamin D facilitates calcium absorption in the body. If the bones are not healthy, it can lead to bone disorders such as osteoporosis and rickets.

If you want to keep your bones fighting strong and healthy, here are some diet tips that you can follow:

  1. Consume Yoghurt: A very good breakfast option, Yoghurt contains 30% of calcium and 20% of Vitamin D as per RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance), both being vital for healthy bones. It also contains little in terms of calories so that you don’t have to lose sleep over your waistline.

  2. Milk: If you think milk is just for kids, think again. Milk is one of the best sources of protein and calcium; infact it contains 30% of calcium as per RDA. So yes! Drop all inhibitions and drink that glass of warm milk to keep your bones healthy.

  3. Cheese: Another milk-based product, cheese is also rich in protein and calcium. You need to make sure that the cheese you consume is the fat-free version in order to restrict calorie intake.

  4. Sardines: If you are planning on getting a fish sandwich for lunch, then you are on the right track. Sardines are not only rich in Omega-3 Fatty acids, but they also contain calcium and Vitamin D is high amounts.

  5. Eggs: Don’t fear the egg yolk. Not so fast now! Egg yolk contains Vitamin D, an essential nutrient that facilitates calcium absorption in the body. Eggs are also one of the best super-foods as they are a powerhouse of various nutrients.

  6. Spinach: Remember Popeye, the cartoon sailor whose muscular frame was attributed to spinach. Now let’s get down to the facts. Spinach contains calcium, fibre and iron – all very essential for your body. Consuming spinach regularly is one ‘go green’ way to keep your bones healthy. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dietitian-nutritionist and ask a free question.

Can Walking While Eating Can Lead to Weight Gain?

Dietitian,Nutritionist & Health Management, Sports Nutritionist, Health Coach
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Gurgaon
Can Walking While Eating Can Lead to Weight Gain?

Some new studies have shown that eating while you are walking can cause weight gain. The findings have said that while walking you tend to consume more food than when you are stagnant. However, not only walking but also while conversing with others or watching television increases your urge to consume more food.

The reasons for which you may consume more food while walking are:

  1. If you sometimes eat on the go then you can consume more food later in the day. Because while eating we did not concentrate how much of amount we consumed.
  2. One more reason of consuming much food can be that walking is one powerful distraction. As you do not completely concentrate on your food it falls into mindless eating.
  3. Concentrating on your food is a significant part of enjoying your food and managing weight gain.
  4. When you sit down and eat, you tend to focus on how much food you are taking in one bite, and chew properly. Nevertheless, when walking and eating none of these happens.
  5. When you walk and eat, you do not pay attention to what you are eating. While on the go you just grab whatever food satiates your hunger and this leads to weight gain later.

There are also some simple steps to avoid over eating. They are:

  1. Sit on a table and eat slowly.
  2. Chew your food properly.
  3. You should stop eating when you first start feeling that you are full.
  4. Try to eat as many vegetables as you can and try to avoid junk foods.

Weight gain and obesity is also associated with our mind. When we start consuming food, our brain takes at least 20 minutes to connect to our stomach. So, eating slowly is a much needed for avoiding weight gain.

Hi lybrate-user, I hope you're doing fine. Your body is dependent on the pills you're taking. The pills you were taking I suppose they were viagra, which is a performance booster overall. Let me tell you, if one thing attracts you please keep in mind that you should also look behind what it does to your body. It has alot of side effects too which can impair body own hormones and organs. Now coming to the point, first of all you need to slowly decrease the dose and then finally leave it. You need to start working out and start eating clean! Please get a health check up done which includes your (Free and Total Testosterone, Estradiol, Cortisol levels too). Also consult a TRT specialist which will help you to overcome it. If you're serious about changing your lifestyle and dropping the medicine and you're looking to get healthy you can get in touch with me, and ill be glad to assist you.
