Hey I low in calcium for few years but it's tablets are too big to swallow that's why I don't eat it but my joints pains frequently and cramps too. I married 3 months before. Due to this my mom in law give me dry fruits apple banana milk mix in breakfast n regular normal lunch and dinner. Hi lybrate-user If you cannot take calcium tablets you can take calcium naturally but before that, you need to have sufficient amount of Vitamin D levels in your body so that the calcium will naturally be absorbed. The recommended levels of vitamin D are 20 nanograms/milliliter to 50 ng/mL. Bone loss is a silent condition that occurs over the years as you age. It is a condition when the bones become weak and fragile. It is estimated that one of every three women above 50 years suffers from osteoporosis related fracture.

What causes bone loss?
Bones are made of minerals, calcium, and phosphate. Bones are being constantly destroyed and refoemed within the body. As long as your body balances the process, your bones stay strong and healthy. However when the bone decay out grows the bone formation process, bone loss and a host of other problems occur. Some of the common causes bone loss are:

  1. With growing age, the body starts to reabsorb phosphate and calcium instead of keeping it in the bones. This makes the bones weak. When the process continues for a long time, it leads to osteoporosis.
  2. If your diet doesnot contain high calcium foods, then your bones donot get enough calcium.

Sciatica refers to pain that begins in the hip and buttocks and continues all the way down the leg. After few days of surgery ambulation is very important and lying in flat position cause chest congestion keep him hydrated water with sugar and salt ,the systolic BP should not fall below 100 chest physio (that is patting slowly by palms on back of chest twice a day )spit the cough always give luke warm water.

Bipolar Disorder is a form of severe mental illness, characterised by episodes of depression and Hypomania/mania (elevated mood). For a clear diagnosis, initial episodes must occur in absence of brain condition, head injury, or illicit drugs misuse. Later episode may be precipitated by drugs use or other medical conditions like infection etc. I think Bipolar disorder is often misdiagnosed and improperly treated. Equally, if someone has clear cut diagnosis, then then must receive adequate and carefully monitored allopathic treatment with mood stabilisers like sodium valproate or lithium or low dose neuroleptics like olanzapine or quetiapine. I don't think Ayurvedic treatment will work of this disorder. I recommend you have your brother evaluated by a qualified psychiatrist to establish diagnosis. Thereafter he will need medicinal & psychotherapeutic intervention to engage him in treatment plan, comply with medicine regime and attend appointments, bring about life style change and engage in low stimulating activity to reduce risk to hypomanic or manic relapse. Family will also need support, education and empowerment to help themselves and help him. Bipolar disorder is a complex and complicated disorder but treatable if addressed in a professional manner and cared with a compassionate approach. You have not mentioned your age but if you are young, then there may be a need to meet with a counselor along with your parents to determine any contributing factors from childhood. First of all, the intensity of stress is in the perception. Change your perception, there is no stress: it’s like looking at a glass half full or half empty. Apart from that, all your emotions need to be dealt with by expression i.e. You need to talk about the feelings. Then you need to exercise regularly, eat fiber foods (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), sleep at least 8 hours every day, learn Yoga and meditation, learn stress management, and do a personality development course. Because you are into studies, follow a tight schedule, with good breaks and study habits. If group study helps you, do it with the right people. If tutoring is required, arrange for the same. These should see you through successfully without the stress. The headache is related to your anger and needs some expressions to deal with it.

I feel giddiness since one month First one to two days I felt stiffness and pain in my neck, I thought it may be cervical spondylosis but after that I never felt anything abnormal in neck portion I feel only giddiness in morning and evening time and in this situation whenever I got checked my BP it is 10 higher means 130/80 or 120/90 Please suggest me possible treatment.

Hello Lybrate user. Giddiness or dizziness is only symptoms .ther are may reasons .it can be associated to cervical spondylosis and also can be of BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, bppv lasts abt 40 t0 60 second .if it goes more than 60 sec than it other kind of vertigo. Proper examination is key to success. Schedule a consultation to neuro or Ent specialist. If they find it BPPV epleys maneuver will works for this.

Sleep is the best reliever of all stress and physical pain. Not only is it important to get sleep, but also to sleep soundly and without any disturbance. The quality matters. Here are a few tips to get better sleep: 

  1. It is important to maintain the same sleep schedule every single day. This helps to naturalize your body clock and get the best quality sleep. 
  2. Switch off all mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices. Their artificial glow not only hampers your eyesight, but also prolongs the amount of time your body takes to relax and fall off to sleep. 
  3. If your back pain causes you to continually wake up in the middle of the night in discomfort, then sleep with a pillow or cushion between your legs so as to straighten out your back and relieve pent up stress. 
  4. The importance of your pillow can never be stressed upon enough. Your pillow should be not too fat, hard or soft. It should just about support the natural curve of your neck, so that it is perfectly aligned with the centre of your body. Correct sleeping postures are extremely important. 
  5. Make sure your room is nice and dark so as to stimulate the secretion of a hormone called melatonin that is regulated by light exposure. Darker the room, greater melatonin, making you more sleepy. 
  6. Those who exercise regularly and well are known to be fitful sleepers. Exercise well before bedtime. If required, do some light yoga or stretching exercises that promote sleep. 
  7. What you eat throughout the day makes a difference to the quality of your sleep. Stay away from too much caffeine, alcohol, or a heavy meal just before sleeping. They only make you stay awake for longer and may cause heartburn or stomach trouble. Don't drink too much water, or else you will be making more midnight trips to the bathroom than clocking those sleep hours. 
  8. Try to keep your head clear of all worries and stress when in bed. Regular meditation and deep breathing can help. 

There is no end to all the things you can do to sleep well and comfortably. It is important to be self-disciplined to sleep well and hence be a healthy individual.
