Chronic Fatigue syndrome of chronic fatigue makes you feel extremely weak and tired that you cannot carry on with routine activities. Chronic fatigue does not have a definite cause, hence, diagnosis is difficult. Symptoms are:
• Chronic tiredness
• Loss of memory or concentration
• Enlarged lymph nodes in neck or armpits
• Sore throat
• Extreme exhaustion
• Unexplained muscle pain
• Unrefreshing sleep
HOW IS CHRONIC FATIGUE DIAGNOSED?
The diagnosis may be done by the general physician who will conduct a physical examination on the basis of the symptoms. One must have symptoms that do not get cured by simple bed rest or have not emanated simply as a side effect of anti histamine drugs.
HOW IS CHRONIC FATIGUE TREATED?
The treatment is based on the various symptoms and causes of the syndrome. The doctor may prescribe medicines like anti-depressants or sleeping pills. Physical Therapy and psychological counselling may be helpful in many cases.
