Hi, you haven't mentioned about the dates when these abortion has taken place. Do share the reports (if you do have any). The reason can be simple general weakness of the body after abortions. Don't worry, besides having healthy, nutritious and balanced food and enough of rest, take homoeopathic medicines - ignatia 200/ one dose once a day daily; five phos. And alfaalfa tonic - take both 3 times a day daily. Take them for a month and report me.

Uterus can have 3 positions, mid position / forward bending (anteverted) most common / backward bending (retoverted). There is 1 cm size fibroid in the wall of the uterus. You have not mentioned size of cyst in the left ovary, I presume it is small irregular, post ovulatory is not important. Endometrium is normal. Minimal fluid in pouch of duglas (pod) is normal. If your menses are regular then there is no cause for worry. The 1cm size fibroid needs to be observed once in a year to watch for any increase in size by ultrasound.

Hi Mr. lybrate-user, As rightly told by your gynecologist, the chances of pregnancy are minimal. I pill is an emergency contraceptive pill and is supposed to be used only once in a month. There is no definite day on which bleeding will occur after taking I pill, as it depends on the day of your friend's cycle also. A period generally happens within 10 days of the tablet. Do think of a regular contraceptive option, along with a condom if sexually active to avoid risk of pregnancy as well as infections. You could consult a gynecologist for the same.

Pain during periods is very common nowadays due to unhealthy lifestyles. For this you need to change your lifestyle. 1) avoid eating junk & spicy food. 2) have black tea with ginger & 1 tsf cow ghee 3) make ladoo of urad daal fried in sesame oil & mixed with jaggery. Have 1 daily for 3 months 4) eat two tbsps of flax seeds during your period 5) drink a lot of water & fresh juices 6) go for matra vasti at a panchakarma centre 7) half a teaspoon of powder of sesame seeds taken with hot water twice daily acts excellently in reducing spasmodic pain 8) using heating pads or hot water bags around the area relaxes the stiff muscles and reduces pain by bringing oxygen in the area.

PCOS - 8 Associated Symptoms

DGO, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
PCOS - 8 Associated Symptoms

Polycystic ovarian syndrome is the condition when a woman's sex hormone levels get imbalanced. This can cause women to have irregular periods and may also have an impact on their fertility. Women suffering from PCOS also tend to grow small cysts in their ovaries which can also lead to severe health problems like diabetes and heart disease, if left untreated.

What causes PCOS?

The exact cause of PCOS is not known. However, the condition may be triggered by hormonal imbalances and genetic factors. Women are more susceptible to developing this condition if their mother or a female family member also has the condition. Excessive production of androgen, which is a male sex hormone, may also lead to this condition. Women suffering from PCOS tend to have high levels of androgen. The formation of eggs and their release during ovulation can be delayed by high levels of androgen. High androgen levels may result from excess insulin present in the blood. Poor lifestyle and irregular eating habits contribute to obesity which intern leads to increased insulin resistance and hence delayed ovulation and irregular cycles leading to infertility.

What are the symptoms of PCOS?

The type of symptom in case of PCOS varies from person to person. Since PCOS is characterized by low levels of sex hormones, this condition may lead to symptoms such as:

  1. Excessive hair growth on stomach, face, chest, toes and thumbs
  2. The breast size starts to shrink
  3. There is a change in voice, making it deeper
  4. There is excessive loss of hair from your scalp
  5. Sometimes the face is filled with acne and the skin turns oily
  6. There are fertility problems like having trouble in ovulating or recurring miscarriages
  7. Frequent depression or mood swings
  8. Facing breathings problems while sleeping
  9. Obesity

Diagnosis

On examination, findings in women with PCOS may include the following:

  • Virilizing signs
  • Acanthosis nigricans
  • Hypertension
  • Enlarged ovaries: May or may not be present; evaluate for an ovarian mass

Management

Lifestyle modifications are considered first-line treatment for women with PCOS. Such changes include the following:

Pharmacologic treatments are reserved for so-called metabolic derangements, such as anovulation, hirsutism, and menstrual irregularities. First-line medical therapy usually consists of an oral contraceptive to induce regular menses.

If symptoms such as hirsutism are not sufficiently alleviated, an androgen-blocking agent may be added. First-line treatment for ovulation induction when fertility is desired are letrozole or clomiphene citrate. [2, 3, 5]

Surgical management of PCOS is aimed mainly at restoring ovulation. Various laparoscopic methods include the following:

Mangos protect against several kinds of cancer.

There are many side effects of it. And not getting period is not always pregnancy. First check by urine pregnancy test whether is it pregnancy or not. Then take the pills. If it is not pregnancy then you may need other treatment.

Know More About Smokeless Tobacco!

Why is it hard to quit using smokeless tobacco?

Like cigarettes, smokeless tobacco (snuff or chewing tobacco) contains nicotine, a very addictive substance that causes changes in the way you think and act. If you are addicted to nicotine, you crave the “buzz” you get from using smokeless tobacco, and you have to use more and more to get the effect you want. Smokeless tobacco puts more ;nicotine into your bloodstream than cigarettes do. This is one reason why people who chew or dip tobacco regularly may think that quitting smokeless tobacco is even harder than quitting cigarette smoking. Using smokeless tobacco might also be a habit for you when you’re in certain situations or with certain people. For example, you may always chew tobacco when you go to a sporting event or when you watch tv. It can be hard to break this pattern of behavior. However, many smokeless tobacco users have quit successfully – and so can you. Psychiatrist can help you quit.

Placenta anterior is again normal to have but the only concern is if there is a c-section then doctor may have to go through th placenta to reach the baby and there can be excess blood loss. This may also cause difficult / obstructed labour sometimes. Regards.
