Teeth are one of the strongest parts of the human anatomy. They can be easily maintained religiously. However in some cases teeth may be beyond repair leading to severe toothache and in such instances, a tooth extraction surgery is the only option recommended by a dentist. Dental extraction treatments have become state of the art and extracting teeth is really painless. There are two types of extraction. A local anesthesia is given to the patient in both the procedures. In a simple extraction the tooth is visible clearly and using a forceps the damaged tooth can be easily removed. However in some cases the tooth falls below the gum line and in such cases, a surgical procedure has to be used. Both the procedures are relatively painless and the post surgery procedures are easy to follow. A small gauge is inserted in the surgical area to stop/minimize the bleeding. Liquid diet will be suggested for the first day and luke warm water rinsing is advisable for two days. Cold and frozen foods are recommended for the initial days too, as the numbing subsidizes and a regular diet can be followed later on. The instances where the bleeding still persists a visit to the dentist might be needed.
