The best and the most common home remedy for tonsillitis is to gargle with warm salt water. The warm water will have a soothing effect and the salt will help kill the virus or bacteria. Plus, salt helps reduce inflammation, giving you instant relief. Mix one teaspoon of table salt in a cup of warm water. Gargle with the solution. Do not swallow it. Spit the water out after gargling. Repeat this as often as possible for speedy recovery.

My name is srishti agarwal! I have pain in my lower back since 3 years. I got my x ray done and it seems quite normal. Consulted a physiotherapist she said my back muscles are weak and I have to exercise regularly to keep the pain suppressed. I got ultrasound and tens done there. Once I take the treatment 8-10 days my pain disappears for 6-8 months. This time it started back in 4-5 months only. I thought of changing my mattress so I wanted to know what kind of mattress is best for lower back pains! Please revert asap.

Hi lybrate-user. You seem to have a mechanical low backache. Exercises will help you a lot. Do core strengthening exercises for the same. As Das as the mattress is concerned, get a firm mattress. But it should not be too hard. Try out a firm mattress with memory foam top. It's usually quite effective in patients with backache. Avoid pure foam or too hard mattresses.

Hi, there are many treatment options for acne and acne scarring. A course of tablets and creams is needed for treating your problem depending upon the grade of your acne and your skin type, as different type of acne require different types of treatment.. A sebum regulating face wash and a non comedogenic sunscreen should be used. Avoid oily/ junk/ starchy food, drink plenty of water daily and also avoid hair oil application. Hope that helps. You can send a picture of your face for proper treatment.

7 Tips to Take Care of Your Skin in Rainy Season

7 Tips to Take Care of Your Skin in Rainy Season

Monsoon is a season that brings respite from the sweltering heat and ushers in joy. But at the same time the season also brings along diseases and a threat to the skin and hair. However, all it requires is a little effort from your part to keep your skin glowing and healthy. Some of these are:

  1. Wash your face daily: The pores of your skin tend to get clogged with dirt and pollutants during monsoon causing the outbreak of pimples and rashes. Therefore, it is imperative to wash your face two to three times a day to avert these eruptions. You can also use a toner in case you have dry skin to keep the pores clean.
  2. Use moisturizer: Though using a moisturizer is almost always associated with winter, it is equally important to use it during monsoon especially during the nights. Night is the time when the skin tries to repair itself on its own, therefore applying moisturizer helps in averting the wrinkles and maintains the glow of the skin.
  3. Exfoliation of the skin: Monsoon is the time when your skin requires the most pampering, therefore, an exfoliation at least once in every week will help you to keep the dead cells away, consequently helping you to keep your skin glowing and soft.
  4. Apply sunscreen: Similar to a moisturizer, a sunscreen is a product whose benefits are strictly associated with summer. But that is not rather should not be the case. During monsoon, even though the rays of the sun may not seem harsh, it can as well damage your skin; therefore applying a sunscreen should be something you must not miss.
  5. Eat green vegetables: Your skin reflects not only the benefits of the cosmetic products that you apply on it, but also what you eat. Eating oily and junk products show their mark on the skin sooner than later, therefore the trick is to stay away from them and indulge in green vegetables. Your skin will inevitably show the benefits soon.
  6. Eat fruits: The benefits of eating green vegetables and fruits go hand in hand. Rich in antioxidants, fruits help in maintaining the luster of your skin.
  7. Drink lots of water: Water has plenty of advantages and it takes care of the skin, health as well as hair. Drinking plenty of water during monsoon takes care of the skin and keeps the glow.

Silica - this mineral, the most abundant on earth, strengthens collagen which is what supports the hair matrix and accelerates hair growth. Silica is high in fibrous foods which include dark green leafy vegetables. Also beneficial are tomatoes, figs, grapes, apples, berries, onions, and flax seeds. Very high on the list is the skin of cucumbers. Unfortunately, we tend to peel cucumbers for fear of the pesticides that may be on them. Bean sprouts, red peppers, and green peppers are also high on the list. It has been reported that the average American diet is made up of 80 percent processed food. Unfortunately, in processed foods, fiber (and silica) are the first things to go.

Homeopath,
Dear Dr. I am suffering a clinical condition called PHIMOSIS. Is I eligible for married. Can I satisfied my partner. ...
The most conventional method to get rid of phimosis is surgery. However, if you are unwilling to undergo surgery then you can try the following process at home. 1) buy any local anaesthetic gel (e. G. Lidocaine, lignocaine, xylocaine) from allopathic retail shop. 2) apply a little amount of that anaesthetic gel at the lower part of the prepuce of penis where the foreskin remains attached. 3) after application of the gel, retract the foreskin backwards as far as you can. Due to the anaesthetic property of the gel you will be able to retract the foreskin backwards to some extent more than you can do in normal condition. 4) release the foreskin when you feel pain 5) again repeat the same process. Do it continuously for at least 30 minutes in a day. Within a month you will feel that your foreskin has become loose.

General Physician,
Many side effects as listed here. Best age to stop smoking is before 40, In fact do not start all Only by using strong will power and avoiding all situations where you feel like smoking, chewing tobacco or drinking or using drugs avoiding friends who smoke and diverting mind by reading or chewing a gum, like NICORETTE and taking a walk when you crave for a smoke can all help. You can chew Nicorette gum which is nicotine replacement. There are medicines available. Which can be prescribed if asked personally Cigarette smoking is a leading preventable cause of mortality. It kills more than 60 lakh people worldwide every year. More than 50% of regular smokers would invariably die from tobacco-related illnesses which includes heart attack, cancer or asthmatic lung diseases. Best age to stop smoking is before 40 31st May is “World No Tobacco Day” Quitting smoking before the age of 40 is associated with larger decline in premature death than stopping it at a later date. Best age therefore to stop smoking is before 40. However, stopping smoking even after the age of 50 is still associated with lower risk of death as compared to those who continue to smoke. Even in smokers aged 80 years or more, quitting smoking appears to reduce some mortality.
