  • Decreased effect:
  • Vinlep 150 MG Tablet and MHD induce CYPA3A isozymes (CYP3A4 and CYP3A5) responsible for the metabolism of dihydropyridine calcium antagonists and oral contraceptives, resulting in a lower plasma concentration of these drugs.
  • Vinlep 150 MG Tablet with oral contraceptives has been shown to decrease plasma concentrations of the two hormonal components, ethinyl estradiol (48% and 52%) and levonorgestrel (32% and 52%).
  • Vinlep 150 MG Tablet may decrease the effectiveness of these contraceptive products.
  • Vinlep 150 MG Tablet has been shown to lower the AUC of felodipine by 28% and verapamil produced a decrease of 20% of plasma levels of Vinlep 150 MG Tablet metabolite MHD.

  Clinically significant hyponatremia (sodium <125 mmol/L) can develop during Vinlep 150 MG Tablet use. As with all antiepileptic drugs, Vinlep 150 MG Tablet should be withdrawn gradually to minimize the potential of increased seizure frequency. Use of Vinlep 150 MG Tablet has been associated with CNS related adverse events, most significant of these were cognitive symptoms including psychomotor slowing, difficulty with concentration, and speech or language problems, somnolence or fatigue, and coordination abnormalities, including ataxia and gait disturbances.
