About Toba F Eye Drop

Being an aminoglycoside antibiotic, Toba F Eye Drop kills bacteria to treat different types of severe bacterial infections in the eye. This medication is a blend of two drugs which are Tobramycin and Fluorometholone. Tobramycin is an antibiotic which performs its action by stopping bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Fluorometholone is a steroid which obstructs the production of prostaglandins that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.

It is not to be used if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or to another aminoglycoside antibiotic like gentamicin. If you are observing adverse effects such as Eye irritation and Eye discomfort, let your doctor know. Medicines like penicillin, imipenem, ceftizoxime decrease the effectiveness of Toba F Eye Drop when taken along with it. On the other hand, medicines like cisplatin, colistin, cyclosporine, and fludarabine increase the side effects of Toba F Eye Drop.

It is given in an injection form at the doctor’s office or clinic itself. If you are to use it at home, ask all the questions you need to, to the doctor and be sure of the proper procedure. Remember to never reuse needles and syringes. Never take a double dose of Toba F Eye Drop, it is better that you skip it till the next time you can take it.
