About Nefacool Eye Drop

This is a combination medication which has Carboxy Methyl Cellulose and Naphazoline as active ingredients. It is a derivative of cellulose with a carboxymethyl group. This drop is bound to a few of the hydroxyl groups of the glucopyranose monomers that build up the backbone of the cellulose. The salt form of it is used as an eye ointment to treat conjunctivitis. It works by interfering with the growth of the bacteria causing the infection.

It is recommended to monitor both blood levels of the medication and blood cell levels, once in every two days during treatment. The duration for which the medication remains effective varies according to the intended use and dosing regimen.
