Megapen Kid Tablet is an antibiotic so it is used to fight bacterial infections. It is a semi-synthetic derivative of penicillin and is used to treat urinary tract infections, pneumonia, respiratory track infections, meningitis, or gonorrhea, infections of the stomach or intestines.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding during the course of this medicine. It is advised to avoid this drug if –

• You have been allergic towards any penicillin antibiotic.
• You are taking tetracycline antibiotics or mononucleosis medicines.
• You have recently received or will be receiving any immunisation of vaccination.

The dosage of this medicine as prescribed by your doctor depends on your age, your kidney function and the type of bacteria causing the infection. It is taken usually 4 times a day in every 6 hours, or as directed by a doctor. Unnecessary use or overuse of this medicine will decrease its effectiveness.
