About Fycompa 4mg Tablet

Fycompa 4mg Tablet is used in combination with other medications to treat certain types of seizures in people who are 12 years of age or older. This medication comes under class of medication known as anticonvulsants.It works by decreasing abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

Precautions:Before taking this medications inform your doctor or pharmacist about what prescription and non- prescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take.Be sure to mention any of the following: antidepressants; barbiturates such as phenobarbital and secobarbital (Seconal); medications for allergies,anxiety, cough and cold, mental illness, and pain; medications for seizures such as carbamazepine (Carbatrol, Tegretol, Equetro),Also inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to medication or any other medications.Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.Also avoid this medication during nursing. This medication may cause dizziness, drowsiness, and problems with coordination and balance. This may increase the risk of falls that can cause serious injury, especially if you are elderly. Do not drive a car, operate machinery, or participate in activities requiring alertness or coordination until you know how this medication affects you.Side effects:Constipation, nausea, muscle or joint pain, blurred or double vision, drowsiness.

    This medication acts as a non-competitive antagonist of AMPA glutamate receptor used to treat partial-onset epileptic seizures. Inhibition of AMPA receptor inhibits neuronal excitation in the central nervous system, reducing psychomotor performance and seizure symptoms.
