About Dytor Plus 10 Tablet

Dytor Plus Tablet is used to treat various conditions such as accumulation of excessive of water in the body, accumulation of excessive salts in the body, high blood pressure, heart failure or other heart related disorders, fluid retention in liver or kidney disease, lung swelling, cardiac dysfunction, etc.

The primary working principle for Dytor Plus medicine relies on active elimination of excess or unrequired water and excessive sodium content from the body by making them leave the body with the passage of urine. The doctor will prescribe your dose taking into consideration your condition and overall medical history.

You should not use Dytor Plus 10 Tablet if you are or have a:

  • Kidney, liver or heart disease,
  • High levels of potassium,
  • An adrenal gland disorder,
  • Pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding a baby.

The dosage prescribed to you generally depends on the severity of your condition and how your body reacts to the medicine. It may interfere with your sleeping pattern. In case of patients with edema because of congestive heart failure, the dosage may vary from 10mg - 20mg in a day. Those with renal problems may be prescribed about 20mg daily.

This medication is mostly prescribed for daily consumption and can be taken before or after food. Patients are generally advised not to take this medication for about 4 hours before bedtime, as you may develop the need to urinate frequently in the middle of the night.

Patients with hypertension are generally prescribed about 5mg-10mg of the drug to be taken once a day. This medication should not be discontinued prior to the doctor’s consent. It is primarily because if you stop taking this medication, it can suddenly aggravate your symptoms. This medication is meant for oral consumption and is available in tablet form.

Symptoms of overdose include drowsiness, confusion, clinical signs of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, hyperkalemia; ingestion of large amounts of potassium-sparing diuretics, may result in life-threatening hyperkalemia.

This can be treated with I.V. glucose, with concurrent regular insulin; sodium bicarbonate may also be used as a temporary measure. If needed, Kayexalate® oral or rectal solutions in sorbitol may also be used.

Take as directed, with meals or milk. This diuretic does not cause potassium loss; avoid excessive potassium intake (eg, salt substitutes, low-salt foods, bananas, nuts). Weigh yourself weekly at the same time, in the same clothes, and report weight loss more than 5 lb/week.

    This medication is an antagonist that acts via binding of the receptors at the site of potassium exchange within distal renal tubules. It allows for excretion of excessive amounts of water and sodium. As a result of this action, of this medication has assumed the role of both an antihypertensive and diuretic. Hence, it reduces the blood pressure by inhibiting Na-K-2Cl reabsorption at ascending loop of Henle. This helps in increasing the excretion of water and sodium.

        Consumption of this medication may increase the blood glucose levels. Close monitoring of blood glucose levels is necessary.

        This diuretic does not cause you to lose potassium; because salt substitutes and low-salt milk may contain potassium, do not use these products without checking with your physician, too much potassium can be as harmful as too little; should be administered with food, avoid natural licorice
