About Atsure 200 MG Injection

Atsure 200 MG Injection is an anticancer chemotherapy drug. This includes treatment for ovarian cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, bladder cancer, pancreatic cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. It is also sold under the trade name of Gemzar. Atsure 200 MG Injection can also be used in combination with other medications as supervised by your doctor. It is an antimetabolite drug. Atsure 200 MG Injection is only injected into your vein by IV injection or IV infusion.

Side effects may vary from one person to another. Some people may not experience all of them at the same time. But mainly the common side effects of using Atsure 200 MG Injection include fever, mild nausea, diarrhea, hair loss, tiredness, loss of appetite, flu- like signs, eruptions on the skin and low blood count. Should effects continue inform your health care provider.

Before embarking on your Atsure 200 MG Injection treatment, notify your doctor of the following pre-existing conditions, if any:

  • If you are already taking any kind of medications, whether it be prescriptive, non-prescriptive, herbal and vitamins .
  • If you are taking any vaccinations.
  • You are allergic to any kind of foods, to Atsure 200 MG Injection itself or are receiving radiation treatment.
  • If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding a baby.

As a preventive measure, please do not try to conceive a child while under Atsure 200 MG Injection treatment. For both men and women use all kinds of barriers of contraception during this time. Other measures that you can take to keep the side effects at bay include getting yourself regularly checked by your doctor; keeping yourself warm at all possible times to avoid flu or fever; making sure to avoid bleeding as much as possible; drinking plenty of fluids every day; keeping yourself clean at all times, avoiding exposure to the sun by using an umbrella or sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 and maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle.

    How does this medication work?

    This medicine belongs to the antimetabolite class of drugs. After ingestion, it metabolized and form diphosphate and triphosphate nucleosides. Diphosphate nucleoside inhibits ribonucleotide reductase which generates deoxynucleoside triphosphates which are essential for DNA synthesis. Thus, the gemcitabine triphosphate competes with deoxynucleoside triphosphates for incorporation into DNA and interferes with DNA synthesis, results in cell death.

        Clozapine

        These medicines may further lower the white blood cell count if received together. Any symptoms of fever, diarrhea, sore throat, chills should be informed to the doctor.         Warfarin

        These medications may increase the risk of bleeding if taken together. Close monitoring of platelets count and liver function is necessary. Any symptoms of unusual bleeding, blood in stools, yellow colored eyes and skin should be informed to the doctor. The dose of warfarin or Atsure 200 MG Injection should be adjusted based on the clinical condition.

        Live vaccines

        You may be at the risk of developing infections if these medicines are taken together. Inform the doctor if you had received either of these medicines. Your doctor may postpone therapy based on the condition.

        Fluoroquinolone antibiotics

        The effect of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, levofloxacin may reduce if taken with anti-cancer agents. The dose of these antibiotics should be adjusted. An alternate class of antibiotic could be considered based on the clinical condition.
