About Arterolane

The maleate derivative of Arterolane is used in combination with piperaquine phosphate to treat patients suffering from malaria. This combination of chemicals is administered orally to the patients, and is commonly available in the form of tablets. It works by killing the malaria causing agent, Plasmodium sp., by using its own chemical waste (from the infection) against it.

Possible side effects of this medication include headaches, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, anorexia and a general weakness or fatigue. Your recommended dosage will be based on various factors such as your medical condition, along with any pre-existing medical conditions that you might have. Avoid using this medicine if you are already taking other drugs to treat malaria. Exercise caution if you are an elderly patient.
