Long QT Syndrome is a condition that can cause the heart to beat fast. These fast heartbeat can cause the patient to faint or have a seizure. In severe cases the rapid heartbeats can be fatal and cause death. This syndrome can be inherited or acquired.

HOW IS LONG QT SYNDROME TREATED?
Medications such as fish oil supplements and beta blockers can help to prevent the heart for beating too fast. Devices such as a pacemaker or an implantable cardioverter defibrillator can help to control the beating of the heart. For patients with mild symptoms of this disorder lifestyle changes would be advised.
