Heart failure doesn’t imply that your heart is not functional anymore. It simply means that the pumping potential of the heart has gone down drastically. Heart attacks, coronary heart diseases, etc. lead to the same. Irregular breathing, accompanied with difficulty in doing everyday work, exercises, etc. and constant huffing and puffing are the common signs of the same.
HOW IS HEART FAILURE DIAGNOSED?
The doctor will take a careful medical history, review your symptoms and perform a physical examination. Your doctor will also check for the presence of risk factors, such as high blood pressure, coronary artery disease or diabetes.
HOW IS HEART FAILURE TREATED?
Treatment for heart failure depends on the extent of the problem. In the earlier or less severe cases, medication, controlled diet, etc. are suggested. In more severe situations, heart transplant, surgeries and intravenous inotropic drugs are recommended.
