The term Glioma is used for defining a very vast category of tumours and cells that happen in the spinal cord and brain region. These are caused because of glial cells that turn into tumours. The most common symptoms here include memory loss, seizures, weakness of the muscles, headaches, language problems along with acute personality changes.
HOW IS GLIOMA DIAGNOSED?
Glioma is an oncology condition and is diagnosed with MRI and CT scans. A biopsy of the tumour may also be tested to understand the treatment options, if available.
HOW IS GLIOMA TREATED?
Chemotherapy and radiation therapy is recommended to treat the condition. GLIADEL® wafers and targeted therapy, is recommended for some high-grade gliomas after surgery and radiation therapy.
DID YOU KNOW?
People with this condition have a short span of life. With standard treatment, median survival for adults is about 2 to 3 years.
