Friedreich's ataxia (also called For FRDA) is a rare inherited disease that causes nervous system damage and movement problems. It usually begins in childhood and leads to impaired muscle coordination (ataxia) that worsens over time. Initial symptoms may include unsteady posture, frequent falling, and progressive difficulty walking due to impaired ability to coordinate voluntary movements.

Diagnosis for Friedreich's Ataxia consists of observation of the physical condition by the General Physician or a Neurologist along with studying the family history. In some cases X-rays, CT and MRI scans can also be ordered by the doctor to understand the condition better. There are genetic testing methods also available to the doctors to reach certain conclusions.
HOW IS FRIEDREICH ATAXIA TREATED?
