Teslar Beta is supposed to be taken if you are hypertensive and want to reduce your BP. Please do not take it if your baseline BP is 90/45. VIsit your physician again.

Hi! My I’m a female 48 years old. Recently I did my blood cholesterol test and the reports are as follows TOTAL cholesterol (CHO): 232 mg/dl HDL: 52 mg/dl LDL: 194 mg/dl VLDL: 22 mg/dl Triglycerides: 134 mg/dl As is clear that my LDL and Total cholesterol levels are high. Do I need to worry? What measures should I take? And what kind of food should I avoid? Thanks.

Your total cholesterol and LDL are high and so you should immediately start with lifestyle mdofications measures like - 1. Daily exercise for atleast 40-45 mins in the form of brisk walking etc 2. Quit smoking & drinking. 3. Get a detailed diet counselling for a healthy heart diet which should be low in fried food, sugars and sweet and high in fibres, fruits, proteins etc. Get in touch with a cardiologist locally and get a baseline evaluation done with echo, ecg, TMT and thyroid profile. Follow these precautions for 8 weeks then repeat your lipid profile, if it is still high you will need to start medications.

Hi Doctor, Unknowingly I had alcohol yesterday and today had a full body check up. Everything is normal except my triglycerides. My LDL was normal and HDL is good. But triglycerides shouted up to 350. Is this normal or should I panic. I am 37 years male.

I'm 35 year male non-smoker. I've been having Heart Palpitations multiple times: 17th Feb 28th Feb 6th March 17th May and 20th May. I am type 2 diabetic and currently on Metformin 850 mg twice a day and Silverstatin 10 mg once at night. In March I got myself hospitalized to get my heart checked up by doing Echo ECG treadmill and reports were normal. They even hooked me up with Event Monitor for 2 days with monitoring connected to ICU, which was normal. The doctors are not able to determine what is the disease and on every incident of palpitation they do Toponil and X-ray which comes out normal. For my last episode, I've been now advised to get appointment with Electro Physiologist. Can this be SVT?

Hi lybrate-user, The symptoms you describe can very well be due to SVT, or PSVT to be precise (Paroxysmal Supra-Ventricular Tachycardia). Electrophysiologist won't help much unless you have a diagnosis. Since your symptoms are not daily, its likely 2 day event monitor didn't catch the abnormal rhythm. The next best option here is to get a 15 day or 30 day event recorder. That has higher likelihood of catching the arrhythmia. These days, you also get devices like Kardia or Remote ECG which you can keep in your pocket and attach to yourself whenever you get palpitations. Also get your thyroid checked if it isn't checked yet. Take care.

Mai bahut kamjor hu mera bp hai 52p mai kya karu aur mujhe khana pena achaa nahi lagta.

You must measure both systolic and diastolic B.P. There are various conditions which increases and decrease your BP level throughout the day. Do go for at-least three readings in a day, and if then too BP increases or decreases, then contact us for homeopathic medicines. FOR LOW B.P - 1. Eat a diet higher in salt. 2. To avoid problems with low blood pressure and lessen episodes of dizziness after meals, try eating smaller, more frequent meals. Cut back on carbohydrates. Rest after eating 3. Limit alcoholic beverages, Drink more fluids during hot weather and while sick with a viral illness, such as a cold or the flu. 4. Avoid heavy lifting. 5. Avoid prolonged exposure to hot water, such as hot showers and spas. If you get dizzy, sit down. 6. Get regular exercise to promote blood flow. 7. Be careful when rising from lying down or sitting. To help improve circulation, pump your feet and ankles a few times before standing up. Then proceed slowly. When getting out of bed, sit upright on the edge of the bed for a few minutes before standing. 8. Elevate the head of your bed at night by placing bricks or blocks under the head of bed. 9. Avoid straining while on the toilet. 10. Avoid standing still in place for long periods of time. Do revert for homeopathic medicines FOR B.P.

Hi Mr. lybrate-user, With fatty liver, wee have to see your LDL and TGL and not only total cholestrol. Orvas has atorvaststin whihch is a medicaation to lower cholestrol. There are many medicines to lower cholestrol. If you have NASH (non alcoholic steatohepatits, the, Atorvas is not the drug of choice). Please send me your cholestrol report to see if you really need medication and if yes, then which one. I also need to know if you are diabetic or have any thyroid probles as they can contribute to having fatty liver. Take care.
