I am 43 year old 60kg weight and 162cm height. Please let me know how many chicken egg can be consumed in a day?
Hye, Thanks for the query. No single food can cause weight gain. It's all about a balance of all foods. Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

Hi, I am a diabetic patient in its initial stage.
What should I do to prevent it from getting it severe?
Firstly you take your food with 2 to 3 hr intervals, devided into 3 main meals and 3 small meals. Main meals should consist of 1/4 portion of protein and 1/4 portion of carbohydrates and 2 portion of vegetables more or less at the same time of the day to make your biological clock perfect. Avoid high calorie food such as fried things, mango, banana, sapota, juices, sweets. Secondly do regular exercise, yoga or walk. Thirdly always take your medicine in time as advised by your doctor. Keep your self hydrated and take enough sleep.

Tinospora cordifolia
(giloy, glo, guduchi)

Giloy satva or guduchi satva

It is a very common and economic but wonderful ayurvedic medicine, often neglected by well -to-do people because of mere low cost of the medicine.

It is obtained by extracting starchy content of indian tinospora plant by soaking in water for six to eight hrs, macerated and allowing starchy content to settle down and collected.

This powder has immense curing capabilities. People spend thousands of rupees by way of lab tests, antibiotics when pyrexia of unknown origin (puo) can't be treated. Similarly anaemia, jaundice, hyperacidity, polythrist etc are often take long time to recover. It is here that this wonderful gift of nature is very useful. It is a very fine immunity booster.

Nasal bleeding, menorrhagia, rectal bleeding, burning feet and hands can be cured very well with it as also it is useful in pthisis, emaciation and also lowers blood glucose levels.

Giloy satva when combined with chirayata satva (swertia chirata plant) cures toughest of fevers.

Both of above can be given independently or combined. By giving these with water boiled with holy basil leaves (tulasi) make it manifold effective.

Dosage:
Giloy satva - 1/2 gm to 1 gm
Chirayata satva - 1gm to 2 gm

There are many more uses of such simple things. Patients' attendants need little patience. These are non synthesised and non toxic naturals. Hence little slow. Can be given with any other medicine also. These do not counteract.

People should plant giloy and tulasi at common places in this rainy season so that everyone can benefit when needed. Can be grown in pots also.

What Really Causes Personality Disorders?

What Really Causes Personality Disorders?

What really causes personality disorders?

Personality disorders (pd) are anomalies in behavioral patterns of an individual that are characterized by impairments in personal and interpersonal functioning. These are maladaptive psychological conditions that can be mild or intense and can affect a person's relations with others. These are not triggered by the external factors but are inherent abnormalities of behavior and conduct.

The human psyche is a vast and complex field of study which is so diverse that no two cases of psychological dysfunction are the exact same. Personality disorders are of numerous types, each having a different set of causes and traits.

Broadly speaking, they can be classified into three extensive 'clusters' or categories.

Cluster a includes odd or eccentric disorders like paranoid pd,

Cluster b includes dramatic or erratic disorders such as antisocial pd, and

Cluster c includes fearful and anxious disorders like avoidant pd.

Personality disorders are caused by a wide range of factors which impact each individual in a different manner. The most basic and common causes of pd are as follows:

  •   sexual abuse
  •   physical abuse
  •   emotional abuse
  •   verbal abuse

In most cases, abuse occurs during childhood and the pd takes manifestation in the teenage and adult years. A combination of multiple factors gives rise to complicated disorders which have more acute symptoms. Accidents and trauma can also give rise to personality disorders later in life.

Counseling and psychological therapy are used to tackle the problem and alleviate symptoms. Each case requires a different kind of approach and sometimes intake of medication is also deemed necessary. Diagnosis is always subjective and takes into account various aspects of the patient's life.

Ladyfinger and its benefit for Diabetes
OKRA (BHINDI)

Many of my Diabetic people (I won’t call them patient as Diabetes is Lifestyle Disorder ) keep asking me about  Bhindi / Ladyfinger  and its benefit for Diabetes. So I thought of  compiling  up this scientific information for all My Sweet people. I hope you all find it useful.

Okra (Ladyfinger) is fast gaining a reputation as a so-called 'superfood' for people with or at risk of Diabetes or Cancer.

WHAT IS OKRA?
They are vegetables commonly used for making soups, stews or as a fried/boiled vegetable.

These tender pods are VERY LOW IN CALORIES, providing just 30 calories per 100 gms, and contain NO SATURATED FATS OR CHOLESTEROL. They are also rich in nutrients, completely Non-Toxic, and have No Adverse side effects.

HOW CAN IT HELP TREAT DIABETES?

Okra having Anti-Diabetic properties has increased in recent years, with multiple studies confirming Okra as a potent blood glucose-lowering (or Anti-Diabetic) food.

When  dried and ground okra peels and seeds are consumed they reduced blood glucose levels.

Many people with Diabetes have reported decreasing blood sugar levels after soaking cut-up okra pieces in water overnight and then drinking the juice in the morning, while in Turkey roasted okra seeds have been used as a traditional diabetes medicine for generations.

WHAT'S SCIENCE BEHIND THIS EFFECT?

The SUPERIOR INSOLUBLE FIBREcontained in okra is believed to help stabilize   Blood Glucose by SLOWING SPEED OF SUGAR  ABSORPTION   FROM THE INTESTINAL TRACT.

TALK TO YOUR DIABETOLOGIST

Thank you for Reading it. I hope it has helped you.

I am 43 yeas old. I am healthy, but abdomen is large, how will reduce it for flat belly. Kindly advice.
Hye, Thanks for the query. You cannot work on a specific body part. You have to work on overall fat loss and toning. Try to eat small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals.   Drink a glass of lime water in the mornings to lush out your system & avoid bloating. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Include exercises that tone your back and abdominal muscles too. Exercises To Reduce Stomach Fat1)    Crunches: There is no better exercise that you can think of to reduce belly fat than crunches. It will help you to easily burn stomach fat and if this exercise is coupled with a proper diet intake, then you can see effective results in quick time. Lie flat on your back on a mat. Bent your knees with your feet touching the ground. Now place your hands just behind your head.Take a deep breath and lift your upper body off the floor. You need to exhale when you are lifting your body. When you bring your body back to its original position you need to inhale. Once you come up you need to exhale.Do this for 10 times and then repeat for two or three more sets.2)    Reverse Crunches This is another exercise that will help you to easily get rid of stomach fat. Lie with your back on a mat. Raise your knees with the feet planted on the ground.Keep both the hands on either side of your body.Push your feet in such a way that your thighs are perpendicular to the ground and your feet are off the ground. Now lift your back such that your knees bend towards your chest.Inhale when you plant your feet on the ground and exhale when you lift your back and move your knees towards the chest.Repeat this for 10 times and for two more sets.3)    Twist Crunches This exercise routine is very similar to crunch exercise and here you will have to rotate your shoulder in the direction of the other shoulder. Lie down on the mat with your hands behind your head.Bend your knees and make sure that the feet do not touch the ground. Now move your upper body towards your knees like the crunch exercise. But, here you will have to make sure that you twist your right shoulder towards your left and the left torso must be on the ground.Repeat the same way on the other side. Here, you lift your left shoulder towards the right with the right torso resting on the ground.Repeat the same procedure for 10 to 12 times.4)    Vertical Leg CrunchLie with your back on the mat or the floor. Extend both your legs towards the ceiling and make sure that you cross one knee over the other. Now repeat the same what you have done in the crunch exercise.Breathe in when you lift and cross the knees and breathe out when you move your upper body towards your knees.Repeat this vertical crunch exercise for 10 to 15 times for three consecutive sets.5)    Side Crunches The side crunches will also help you to shed excess belly fat and will also help in providing a proper workout for your love handles. It is very much similar to the twist crunch exercise. The only difference here is that you will have to lift your right leg up when you are tilting your left shoulder towards the right shoulder and vice versa. Repeat for 10 to 12 times each side for 2 consecutive sets. 6)    Bicycle Exercise This is yet another exercise that will help you to shed excess fat round your belly area easily. Lie flat on the floor or the mat and keep both the hands on either side of your head. Now lift both your legs from the ground and bend them at your knees. Now pull your right knee close to your chest with your left leg out. When you are bringing the right knee up you can try to meet your left elbow with your right knee to have a perfect stomach crunch. Now take your right leg out and bring your left knee close to your chest. Now, lift your upper body and make sure that your right elbow touches your left knee for a perfect crunch.Repeat this for 10 to 12 times for both the sides and for two consecutive sets.7)    Rolling Plank Exercise The rolling plank exercise is another popular exercise that will work great on your lower back, hip and abdomen areas. Take your position on the floor or a mat in such a way that your knees and elbows are resting on the ground. You need to look forward so that your neck is aligned with your spine. Now lift the knees up so that you support your legs now on your toes. Now contract your knees and keep it in this plank pose for about 30 seconds. Make sure that you breathe normally during this routine. Now move to and fro for the next half a minute to constitute a rolling plank exercise.Rolling Plank SidewaysLie on the floor in a sideways position.Support your weight on the right elbow and your right leg. Make sure that the right elbow is perpendicular to your right shoulder.Place the left leg above your right leg. Keep your knees straight and lift yourself in such a way that your hips are off the ground.Hold this position for about 30 seconds. Once you practice this position, you can hold to this position for 1 to 2 minutes.Do the same on the other side as well.8)    Lunge Twist If you are a beginner trying to work your belly to remove its excess fat, then you should first try out the lunge twist exercise. Move your left foot forward and bend your left knee. You will feel the hamstring stretch on your right leg.Now lift your hands parallel to the ground and make sure that they are in front of you.Take a big step forward with your left leg and sit down as if you are sitting on a chair. Your right leg should be positioned backwards and you must use your toes to support your right leg.Make sure that your upper body and the spine are in the upright position to perform perfect lunges. Now perform the same lunge exercise on the other leg.Repeat this for 15 times.9)    Side To Side Bending Bending side to side not just helps in reducing excess fat deposits in your stomach area, but it also helps in giving your love handles a perfect shape. Stand in an erect position with your feet together. Lift both your hands and stretch it above your head and make sure that they are clasped together. Now bend your body to your left side as much as possible until you feel a strain on your right side. Hold in this position for 15 seconds. Now come back to the same standing position. Now repeat the same on the right side. Now hold this position for about 15 seconds.Once you get comfortable holding on for 15 seconds, you can increase it to 30 seconds or more on both sides.10)    Stomach Vacuum If you are a beginner looking to do some exercises to reduce belly fat, then you should start with low impact exercises like stomach vacuum exercises. This is an exercise that concentrates mainly on breathing. Hit the ground on all fours by supporting your body on your knees and hands. Now take a deep breath and make sure that your abdomen is loose. Now exhale your breath and make sure that you hold your abdomen muscles tight during exhalation. You need to hold the abdomen contraction for about 15 to 30 seconds.Repeat this process for 15 times for two to three sets daily.11)    Captain’s Chair You will need a chair to do this exercise. It is a simple exercise that will help in reducing excess belly fat. Sit on the chair with an upright spine and straight shoulders.Place both your hands on either side with the palms of the hands facing downwards. Take a deep breath. Now as you exhale, make sure that you bring both your legs upwards such that your knees are very close to the chest.Hold in this position for 5 to 10 seconds. Do not arch your back or bend forwards when your knees are close to your chest. Now bring your legs back to the ground and repeat the same process for 15 times. Lastly be committed.                        Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing.     It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets and singular ab exercises or ab machines alone will not give you targeted results. The fats will remain as it is. It's all about overall work out and balanced diet.

Hye, Thanks for the query. If you want to gain some weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. 1. Eat 5 to 6 meals a day In order to gain weight, you need to start eating 5-6 meals a day. However, it is important that you break these meals into parts, as eating a lot at once may result in indigestion. Also, be sure to include healthy foods in your diet for a healthy weight gain. 2. Weight train at least 3 times a week When you train with weights, your muscles grow. 3. Consume more calories than you burn. Eating calories more than your normal intake may not be easy, but you must do it if you want to stop being skinny. Make sure you don’t do it just by overeating at once, but instead do it gradually over the whole day. 4. Work out your entire body A lot of gym goers usually train only the muscles on their arms, chest and shoulders and this is a grave error. Make sure you workout your entire body for a wholesome weight gain. 5. Load up on protein As informed earlier, you have to consume more calories than your normal intake every day. You can do this by eating foods rich in protein like dairy, meat, eggs, nuts, dry fruits, pulses, sprouts, smoothies, milk shakes etc. 6. Drink your calories It may be tough to meet your calorie requirements by just eating. Drinking milk, lassi, milkshakes or fruit smoothies with little or no sugar can be a great way to load up on the required calories. 7. Try and eat fast (but don’t choke on it) Your body takes some time to give signals of satiety which is why eating fast can help you eat more. 8. Focus on recovery after each workout Stretching exercises, foods rich in carbohydrates can help recover your body significantly. Also, you should aim for 8 hours of sleep as inadequate sleep can cause several problems. 9. Be patient with yourself

If you feel tired in walking it is the indication of weakness of your body. Mild physical activities causes if so, don't be depressed. Be bold and brave. Take care and make your daily livings in proper way by routined life. Take nutrients, antioxidants. Have yoga and pranayam 15 minutes twice at home. Have walk speed as per body mass index. Simply you have your walk speed 8km/hr. Take green veg and fruits. As medicine you take rasayana like amlaki rasayan, aswagandha rasayan. Ok.

Hello, It's good to reduce weight at right time as many problems are directly related to overweight! Remember, there's no magic bullet for weight loss. The key to losing weight is burning more calories than you consume. Choose a variety of healthy foods — such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean sources of protein — and include physical activity in your daily routine. Go through the following guidelines and implement them in your routine: Management: 1: Drink plenty of water (at least 2-3 l/d) or other calorie-free beverages. 2: Be choosy about nighttime snacks. 3: Enjoy your favorite foods. 4: Have 6 meals per day - 3 main courses and 3 snack meals (snack meals should be healthy). 5: Do regular exercises daily (start with light and later may be little vigorous) . Exercise decreases the stress hormone in your body, burns calories and also increases the blood circulation. Preferably brisk walking, swimming, cycling, skipping. 6: Eat seasonal fruits. Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth thanks to its natural sugars, while fresh vegetables help you fill up more quickly. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber to help you feel full quickly. 7: Eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 8: Choose lean proteins instead of fatty ones. 9: Cut the salt from your diet. Eating more sodium causes your body to retain water, which can cause you to feel bloated and gain more weight. 10: Don't skip meals. When you skip meals, your body stops breaking down fat and starts breaking down muscle tissue. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than other tissues, so you're actually working against your goals 11: Eat at home. Going out to eat makes it too easy to cheat. Food sold at restaurants is commonly much higher in fat, sodium, and other weight-loss killers. 12: Give yourself a treat now and then. If you're attending a party or going out for a special occasion, allow yourself an indulgence. Just make sure that these indulgences don't become daily habits. 13: Go for a health walk. Gear up yourself daily for a health walk which not only shed off your extra calorie, but also reduces the stress levels. 14: Take small frequent breaks for a quick walk in between as sitting for long hours together encourages the accumulation of fat in the body! Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Schwabe's Phytolacca Berry tablets/ thrice daily 1/2 an hr before the meals for 3 months. Thereafter revert me back for further guidance. (Slow and steady weight loss is good. As we all know when you lose weight fast, it seems to jump right back on, whereas when you lose weight steadily over time because of changes to your diet and balancing your hormones out it tends to stay off.) All the best!

Exercise most important to reduce your body weight. Diet and exercise forms the base of the weight loss process. Diet and exercise goes hand in hand. External medication gives instant but temporary results.

You have to persist with a low carbohydrate and low fat high protein diet. Stop all cereals, sugar, bakery products and desserts. Take the white of 4 boiled eggs and lots of fruits and green vegetables and salads. Go for an hour long walk every day. If you don't loose weight soon you will develop diabetes and high BP. You may soon need Bariatric Surgery to help you with sustained weight loss. For more details read the health tips I have written on this website OR send me a personal question.
