Mera naam Dr G L Moondra hai. Main Prakratik chikitsa ka consultant hun. Aaj me apse Kabz ke vishay me kuch baat karna chahta hun.

Humari yeh paachan pranali hai, mukh se lekar recrum tak iski kul lambaai 7 meter se adhik hoti hai. Iski antim bhaag ki lagbhag ek meteer lambaai me humara bhojan ka bacha hua bhaag, mal ke roop me parivartit hota hai. Aur iske antim chorr se bahar nikal jata hai. Kisi bhi karan se jab ye mal bahar nahi nikal pata hai, ye aant me ikhatta hone lagta hai, to ise kabz kehte hai.

Yeh kabx ki beemari sari duniya me feli hui hai. Sare sansaar me iska bohot he vistaar hai. Sur isko mitaane ke lie hazaaro prakaar ki dawaiya duniya me bikti hai parantu kabz ka theek hone ka koi naam he nahi hai.

Chikitsak log kehte hai ki kabz koi badi beemari nahi hai, balki beemari hai he nahi. Aur sahi baat bhi hai. Vaastav me kabz koi beemari nahi hai parantu humare shareer me jitni beemariya hoti hai, jese sardi zukham se lekar cancer tak, in sab he dawaiyo me kabz se kahi na kahi, kuch na kuch vaad zarur hota hai. Aur yahi kaaran hai ki kabz se saari duniya chintit rehti hai.

Kabz zindagi ki sab khushiya cheen leta hai. Aur islie ise mitaane ke liye log bohot prakaar ke padaartho ka upyg karte hai. Parantu ye padaarth kabx ko mitaate nahi, balki aanto ko system ko aur bhi kamzorr kardete hai. Aus is prakaar zada se zada quantity me aur zada shaktishaali padaartho par manushya nirbhar hota chala jata hai.

Vaastav mein dekha jaae to kabz ka mukhya kaaran hai khaan paan ki gadbad. Humare khane mein reshe ki, fibre ki bohot kami hojati hai. Khane me fibre ki kami ka karan hai humare khane me cheeni, maida, dhuli hui daal ityaadi. Reshe ki poorti hoti hai sabziya khane se aur fruits khane se. Lekin bohot log ya to fruits aur sabziya khate he nahi, aur khate bhi hai to unko cheel kar itna saaf kardete hai ki reshe wala bhaag totally nasht hojata hai.

Is prakaar ke bhojan se he kabz hota hai. Agar kabz mitana hai to iska keval or keval upaaye prakratik chikitsa hai.

Prakratik chikitsa ke dwara kabz se peedit logo ko ye bataya jata hai ki unke bhojan me kya sudhar hona chaie, unhe ye bhi bataya jata hai ki unko kya vyayaam karna chaie jisse ki kabz na ho, aur sath he yeh bhi bataya jata hai ki kis prakaar kabz hojane par uski haaniyo se bachne ke liye kya upaaye kar sakte hai.

Yeh sab mila kar prakratik chikitsa ek aisi vidha ban jati hai jise naa keval kabz mit jata hai balki shareer ke aur doosre rog bhi khatam hojate hai. Sath me dawaiyo par bhi apki nirbharta kam hojati hai.

Yadi is vishay me aap aur kuch janna chahte hai ya fir apni beemari ko mitaane ke liye consult karna chahte hai, to aap Lybrate ke through mujhse baat kar sakte hai ya appointment lekar aap mujhse mil bhi sakte hai.

Yoga + Walking Vs Gymming - Which Is Actually Better For You?

MD
Yoga & Naturopathy Specialist, Delhi
Yoga + Walking Vs Gymming - Which Is Actually Better For You?

To keep up good health, it is absolutely necessary for one to indulge in physical exercise or activities. Physical activities, in general, are linked to a host of good benefits such as reduced stress and a healthier and better outlook, besides increasing the body's resistance against complications like heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes and muscle pain among others problems.

Similarly, the practice of yoga is an ancient tradition well-known for its health benefits. In addition, walking can further complement the practice of yoga and they can together prove to be highly advantageous, to the extent where they can be possibly regarded a better alternative to the act of gyming.

Benefits
Here are a few benefits of gym workouts followed by the benefits of yoga plus walking:-

Benefits of gym and other exercises:

  1. Keep muscles fit
  2. Enhance respiration and perspiration
  3. Help in weight loss
  4. Relieve stress
  5. Increase appetite and food consumption

Benefits of yoga and walking:

  1. Keep you active throughout the day
  2. Help bowel movement
  3. Increase mind control over the body
  4. Improve blood circulation
  5. Relieve anxiety and keeps one stress free
  6. Can be practiced anywhere and everywhere

Differences

Although it can be argued that gym work outs are better than yoga and vice-versa, the subject matter is highly ambiguous and debatable. Since both activities are good for your health, physically as well as mentally, it is very difficult to say which one is better; perhaps a detailed comparison of the differences between the two may be more helpful:

  1. While gymming and other exercises focus on building the body and helping you attain the desired body figure, yoga and walking aims at regulating the entire body mechanism, with more emphasis on mental control.
  2. While gym workouts may be more expensive, yoga requires minimal accessories and is therefore more economically convenient.
  3. Yoga is suitable for people of all ages whereas gymming and other intense physical activities are not advisable for old people or those with specific medical ailments like hypertension and heart problems.
  4. There are minimal withdrawal effects with yoga, in contrast to gym workouts.
  5. Gymming requires you to go to the gym, whereas yoga and walking can be done anywhere and everywhere. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can ask a free question.

Yoga - Practice It Daily For A Stress Free Life!

The entire humanity is now used to a fast paced, stressful life without time to think about their physical and mental health. Your body can adapt to this kind of lifestyle for a while. After which, one fine day, it might breakdown, with or without warning. Emotional stability is lost, and physical trauma is felt, and everyday activities may seem to be scary. Yoga comes to the rescue for all your problems. Be they physical or mental.

The real essence of Yoga lies around improving the life force at the base of the backbone. It attempts to achieve holistic goodness through various physical and mental workouts. Coming to the physical level, the procedures comprise of several postures or yogic asanas which can keep the body healthy, while on the mental level, there are some breathing techniques which helps in disciplining the mind. The benefits of Yoga are almost endless, and this is the reason why it has received international acclamation even when it had originated in India centuries ago.

How can Yoga aid you to live a better life?
No matter whether you are from the West or East, regular practice of Yoga can will offer tons of benefits which include:

  1. Improvement of flexibility: This is the most significant benefit of Yoga where you can improve your posture with each practice sessions. Inflexibility can bring about a lot of movement issues; tight hamstrings can flatten the lumbar spine while tight hips can cause strain to the knee. Daily Yoga can relieve the connective tissues while improving posture.
  2. Builds muscle strength: Strong muscles are not just meant for making you look good; it can protect you from conditions such as back pain, arthritis and falls among aged people. With regular practice of Yoga, you can see your muscles becoming stronger and flexible within a short span.

  4. Improve the health of the bone: Several postures of Yoga demand you to bear your own weight such as the downward and the upward facing dog which also helps in making the bones in the arms stronger. Plus, Yoga is known to lower the cortisol levels which can boost the level of calcium in the bones.
  5. Protection of the spine: The spinal disks which help in absorbing shock crave for movement through which they get the nutrition. Yoga can get you optimum backbends, twists and forward bends to keep the disks in a supple condition.

How has Yoga helped in improving health condition?
Timothy McCall, MD, wanted to come to India to research and investigate on the benefits of Yoga in 2002. Weeks before that he developed tingling sensation along with numbness in his right hand. He was scared and thought that it was something serious like multiple sclerosis or a brain disease but found that he had a nerve blockage in the neck and chest.

Even though it was incapacitating to some extent, this ailment was a blessing in disguise as he could allow Yoga experts to evaluate the cause of the problem and treat it and his experiment reaped benefits. He practiced Pranayama which is a breathing exercise, different moves and chanting to restore vital energy to the affected parts. This had not only helped him to get rid of these problems but also made his body even more flexible, improved his postures and relieved him of various symptoms.

Basic Yoga asanas that can help maintain health

  1. Sukhasana
  2. Shavasana
  3. Balasana
  4. Vajrasana
  5. Bhujangasana
  6. Trikonasana
  7. Uttanasana
  8. Pashcimottanasana
  9. Eka Pada Rajakapotasana
  10. Ushtrasana

More real life examples can be cited where people suffering from chronic illness have gotten a complete relief by practicing Yoga. Across the world, this ancient Indian therapy has been acknowledged as an effective alternative therapy. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

The pain in knee and arm is not related to Alcohol. In any case he should reduce the pegs to one. For pain he needs to do yoga asans like Bhujang asan, Makarasan, in which the neck is bent backwards. Avoid bending your neck forward as much as you can.

I do not think these will interfere. But ask your homeopathy Doctor. However for better heels wear thick cotton socks. Keep the portion where you have cracks wet. It will dry after some time. Repeat wetting process. You will find that within 333-4 days the cracks will start disappearing. For bad appetite go on a 3 days fast. Do some exercise, go for a walk. No medicine is really required for that. Dr. G L Moondraa.

Know about Obesity

Know about Obesity

Charming Health: April 2017

THE NEWS:

  1. A survey made by National Institute of Ageing (India) a few years ago revealed that fasting for two days every week increases Longevity. Therefore everyone who wants to live long should fast for one or two days every week. The survey was made amongst the people who were fasting without any training. Therefore if fasting is done properly, after learning the right mechanics, even better results can be expected.

  2. To support the above statement a reference can be made to the surveys made during 2008 recession in USA and during the period of Rationing in post world war England. In both cases the population in general had much less to eat because either the people had no money to buy food (USA) or there was no food at all (UK). This resulted in reduction of flab from the bodies of the citizens of both the countries. It is now well established that flab reduction directly means improved health. Thus, whatever may be wrong with those times, they definitely resulted in improvement of health in USA and England.

  3. These studies also established that the people of developed countries were normally eating more than what was good for them. These studies further established that eating more does not mean improved health. On the contrary over eating is proved to be detrimental to health.

  4. The times of scarcity and recession are now over and these same people must have gone back to their old life style accumulating flab on their bodies.

  5. In India also the urban effluent population is growing flabby due to over eating, wrong eating and lack of exercise. Therefore obesity is spreading like an epidemic in all cities of India irrespective of their size and location. This is already causing damage to citizens’ well being and overloading scarce health services. The future looks   gloomy because obesity among the children is all the more prevalent now. Surprisingly, although obese but these people are still suffering malnutrition.

  6. The specter of Diabetes and Heart diseases at younger age is looming large. Similarly Knee joint pain which used to be a disease of old age is now starting in 30s and 40s.

  7. Therefore the readers are advised to eat right type and right quantity of food. Lord Krishna in Geeta has advised “Yuktahar”. The very word Yuktahar denotes both, right quality and right quantity.

  8. The question thus naturally arises is what is right quality and how to determine the right quantity.

  9. To answer these questions a very large number of theories have been advanced. The general public is totally confused. They do not know what to believe and what to ignore. Therefore after running from pillar to post, people just quit thinking about it.  The health tips in this news letter will attempt to answer, these very questions in a simple logical manner, in just a few, easy to understand sentences. That will help the people at large to understand and follow.

HEALTH TIPS:

  1. The God given food for humans is Fruits, Vegetables and Dry fruits. Various grains are added to them later. It is therefore better to use them in lesser quantities. The God has also given water and milk to quench thirst and build bodies. Thus these are the foods humans are allowed to eat.

  2. The foods in their natural forms are the best. However, in modern times it is not always possible to use all foods in their natural form. Hence cooking has become essential. In the circumstances cooking of the food should be reduced to minimum. Over cooking, frying and cooking at high temperatures destroy the natural values of the food. Make minimum use of these processes in the kitchen.

  3. The meals must contain a large part of vegetables and fruits. A good part must be in raw form.

  4. Various spices like chilies, garam msalas etc are anti health. Better avoid them.

  5. Intoxicating materials like Tea, Coffee, Tobacco, Coco, Opium products and many other chemical products must be avoided. Similarly preservatives, colors, flavors etc., added to the market foods are good for manufacturers and traders only. These things do not add any value to food.

  6. The human body is not designed for Non Vegetarian foods. Their nails, teeth, digestive system, and very instinct are not made suitable for such foods.  It is best to avoid them.

  7. The total quantity of food should be such that the body shape remains in proportion. That means:

    1. The waist should be not more than 90% of chest. The ideal is 75% or less.

    2. The thighs should be 66% of the waist.

    3. The measurements of neck, upper arm and calf should be nearly equal.

    4. The circumferences of Chest and Hips should be almost equal.

  1. The modern scientists recommend the use of  BMI (Body Mass Index). To calculate it, find the weight in Kilograms and height in Meters. Now divide the weight by square of the height. The answer is the BMI. Ideally BMI should be around 25 for adult males and 21 for adult females. As the age advances beyond 50 it should be still lower. Regulate the quantity of food in such a way that the BMI is maintained.

  2. There is an easier way also. Ensure that the circumference of the waist remains less than half of the height of the body.

No single treatment works best for everyone with plantar fasciitis. But there are many things you can try to help your foot get better: Give your feet a rest. Cut back on activities that make your foot hurt. Try not to walk or run on hard surfaces. To reduce pain and swelling, try putting ice on your heel. Or take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen (such as Advil or Motrin) or naproxen (such as Aleve). Do toe stretches camera. Gif, calf stretches camera. Gif and towel stretches camera. Gif several times a day, especially when you first get up in the morning. (For towel stretches, you pull on both ends of a rolled towel that you place under the ball of your foot.) Get a new pair of shoes. Pick shoes with good arch support and a cushioned sole. Or try heel cups or shoe inserts (orthotics camera. Gif). Use them in both shoes, even if only one foot hurts. If these treatments do not help, your doctor may recommend splints that you wear at night, shots of medicine (such as a steroid) in your heel, or other treatments. You probably will not need surgery. Doctors only suggest it for people who still have pain after trying other treatments for 6 to 12 months. How long will it take for the pain to go away? Plantar fasciitis most often occurs because of injuries that have happened over time. With treatment, you will have less pain within a few weeks. But it may take time for the pain to go away completely. It may take a few months to a year. Stay with your treatment. If you don't, you may have constant pain when you stand or walk. The sooner you start treatment, the sooner your feet will stop hurting.

Under Eye Dark Circles - 8 Common Causes Behind It!

Under Eye Dark Circles - 8 Common Causes Behind It!

Beautiful eyes speak a thousand words. They play a pivotal role in shaping up your overall personality. Your eyes can make or break things in life. But appearance of dark patches under eyes may play a spoilsport. They foil the beauty of your innocent eyes. It is not just lack of sleep or rest that causes these unwanted dark circles. Researchers have found out that a number of factors are responsible for under eye dark circles. Here are the common reasons behind dark circles:

  1. Aging: There are numerous blood vessels passing through the under eye region. As blood cells get clogged in these vessels, they give a blue black tinge to the region. Aging leads to the thinning of the skin under the eye. This makes the blood vessels more prominent and appears as dark circles.
  2. Hereditary factors: You can sometimes blame the bad genes for occurrence of dark circles. Nutritional deficiency: If you are not taking balanced diet, you may end up developing dark circles. Your body must get adequate supply of vitamins A, C, K and E to prevent dark circles.
  3. Insufficient Sleep: Lack of proper rest and sleep turns the skin under the eyes pale. Therefore, the blood in the veins becomes more prominent, causing dark circles.
  4. Smoking and alcohol: The intake of alcohol or indulging in smoking can lead to dehydration of the body and thus lead to dark circles.
  5. Long hours under the sun: Your skin under the eyes gets damaged by the UV rays from sunlight. Moreover, spending long hours under sun triggers the excess production of melanin pigment. This gives a darker shade to the region beneath your eyes.
  6. Pregnancy and menstruation: A woman's skin is largely affected by the hormonal influences at the time of pregnancy or menstruation. The hormonal changes during these periods lead to darkening of the under-eye area
  7. Diseases: Researchers have found that certain diseases linked to the liver or anaemia often causes dark circles under the eye.
  8. Allergies: The colour of the under eye region often changes due to certain allergic reactions and subsequent scratching or rubbing of the area.

A holistic approach to remove dark circles combines chemical peels, microcurrent therapy and homecare solutions. Chemical peels break apart the dead cell layer and bring fresher skin to the surface, reducing pigmentation around the eyes. Microcurrent makes the under-eye area firmer while also supplying it with additional hydration. To maximize these results, a customized homecare regime is drawn up to suit your skin's specific needs.

Further, under guidance of a Cosmetic physician or dermatologist, changes in lifestyle and homecare regime ensure that you enjoy long-lasting results. With this approach, your eyes lose their tired look and are completely refreshed. This effectively reduces pigmentation around eyes and ensures that your eyes remain sparkling fresh as long as you want. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

NAVRATRI HEALTH TIPS:

DIET DURING NAVARATRY:

Depending upon the personal body constitution the procedure is divided in 4 Sections as follows:

A. Obese and Non Diabetic: Just stop all foods and start on plain Water or Lime water or Coconut water. Use a mix of these, for first seven days.  Change to Fresh Fruit Juice or sugarless Juice, for two remaining days. On the tenth day take a light meal and then gradually come back to normal food in 2-3 days time. (Expected Weight Loss, 4-5 Kgs)

B. Obese and Diabetic: Stop all food. Start on Fresh or Sugarless Fruit Juice, preferably citrus, for all nine days. Divide the fruit juice in 4-5 equal parts. Take a light meal on tenth day. Come to normal food in 2-3 days time. (Expected Weight Loss, 3-4 kgs)

C. Normal constitution: Stop all normal food. For first three days take nothing but water, lemon water or coconut water. From the fourth day onwards start on Fresh or Sugarless Fruit Juice.  Take a light meal on tenth day. Come to normal food in 2-3 days time. (Expected Weight loss, 2-3 Kgs)

D. Under weight and first timers: Stop Normal Food. Start on 4 to 5 Medium Bananas and one liter of pasteurized cow milk. Divide this food in three or four parts. Continue for nine days. Take a light meal on tenth day. Come to normal food in 2-3 days time. (Expected weight Loss, Nil)

Other parts of the Therapy, (For all four sections):

  1. Take fresh water Enema every day. (Arrangement available at the Charming Yoga Center). Alternatively, buy the kit from the center and take enema at home- Training is provided free. For those who cannot take enema, take a big cup of Spinach soup every day. Though less effective, it is the best alternative.
  2. Under no circumstances, consume any fried food, or spicy food.
  3. Do not eat any so called Phalahri foods prepared from Kattu, Singhara/Rajgira Atta, Saboodana etc. Do not eat sweets made from milk or above mentioned attas.
  4. Drink lots of water. Total fluid intake should be about 3 liters per day.
  5. Do not stop your Normal Exercises or other Physical activities. Those who devote long hours on Pujas etc., and find no time for exercise, should add 40 minutes of walking every day.
  6. Those who chant sacred texts like Chandi Path or Durga Shapt Shati etc., sometimes feel drowsy during the chanting. They may, therefore, do their chanting along with walking. This will help chanting without getting drowsy. As a bonus, they will be bestowed with a healthier body.
  7. Those who cannot follow the whole course may do so for lesser number of days and increase gradually in subsequent Navaratry periods.
  8. The first timers and others should remain in a positive mood.
  9. Keep away from discouraging words and worried long faces.

These steps will definitely improve the immunity levels. And better immunity will help everyone remain healthy and active.

Let Maa Durga bestow good health upon all the readers.

DIET:

  1. Although the peak season of fruits and vegetables is going some summer fruits will replace them soon.
  2. Grapes are already here. Kinnows  and Oranges are in plenty.  The humble Melons and Water Melons are also ready to appear.
  3. Even the Ber is a fruit, full of nutrients. Do not ignore it.

 MONTH’S RECEPIE:

  1. Bati is a popular food item in west Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In eastern India its other version, Litti is equally popular.
  2. In the past bati was baked upon half burnt cow dung cakes.
  3. It was a cumbersome process. Therefore though popular, it was a rarity.
  4. It can now be made in a much easier way.
  5. Prepare hard Dough from whole wheat atta and roll in round balls of the size of big lemons.
  6. Boil them in a pressure cooker for about 10 minutes.
  7. Then grill them in an oven till the colour changes to slight brown. Frequent turning them during baking is very important so that baties are evenly baked all around.
  8. For those who can eat fats may break the bati and sink it in ghee. Others can just roll them in ghee without breaking.
  9. Eat with any dal of choice.
  10. It is also possible to stuff the baties with mashed Potato, or Paneer, or Tofu etc.
  11. Baties can also be finely crushed and mixed with Gur and ghee.
  12. Prepared this way, baties are not only delicious but are also very healthy.
  13. Some people fry the dough balls. This must be avoided because frying destroys all nutritional values of wheat, otherwise available in Baties.
