Hello, the reason for delayed periods may be due to pcos. You should get your investigations and sonogram done and take proper treatment.

Breast feeding should be started within the first 30-60 minutes of birth.

The thick yellow initial secretion (Colostrum) should not be discarded as it is rich proteins, vitamin A, prevents the development of allergies, and contains antibodies that protect the baby from infections.

The newborn should not be given honey, water or any other fluid other than the breast milkBaby should be breast fed on demand every 2-3 hours devoting 10-15 minutes to each breast.

It refers to the touching of your own body in order to get pleasure and satisfaction. This activity is a very important part of physical as well as mental wellbeing.
Men and women all over the world engage in masturbation, irrespective of whether or not they are sexually active with their partners. There are many myths and debates associated with the act of masturbation, especially for those who are in committal (or non-committal) relationships with a regular sexual partner.
One of these myths is that masturbating when you're in a relationship is abnormal and is indicative of the fact that your partner has lost interest in you and is not sexually attracted to you.

However, masturbating in a relationship is perfectly normal for the following reasons:

  • It is how many learn about their bodies and sexual responsiveness, which enables them to perform better during intercourse
  • It acts as a sexual outlet for those whose partners do not wish to have sex or are unavailable for a temporary time period
  • It is a safe alternative when the risk of sexually transmitted infections and diseases is present

Apart from that masturbation can also help enhancing the sexual relationship as studies show that those who had experienced orgasm through masturbation before they started having sex are likelier to experience better orgasms when they have sex than those who don't masturbate.

However, masturbation comes with its own set of problems. If done excessively, these problems will begin to manifest themselves in the bedroom in the form of sexual dysfunction.

The subsequent reasons entail why it is not good to masturbate too frequently:

  • Too much masturbation leads to loss of libido: Some people tend to constant masturbate to pornography despite having regular sexual partners. They often find themselves underperforming during intercourse as unwarranted masturbation lowers sexual drive.
  • Masturbation does not have the health benefits of sexual intercourse: Having regular sex with a partner positively impacts many aspects of one's health, such as blood pressure, cardiac vigour, hormone secretions, etc. However, masturbation does not carry many of those benefits, as studies have shown.
  • Masturbation has its own risks: It may be considered the safest form of sex possible but it isn't entirely risk-free. Frequent masturbation can cause skin irritations and men who masturbate with roughness face the risk of penile fracture.

The amount of masturbation that one should indulge in is extremely subjective. Those who masturbate regularly and still have a healthy sexual relationship with their partners are in a wholesome place. But if masturbation causes you to develop an aversion to having sex with your partner, consult a sex therapist right away. Compulsive masturbation is a behavior that disrupts one's life both physically and mentally.

Delayed periods may be due to multiple hormonal and non hormonal causes even anxiety. Wait for menses for few days, if no menses get an ultrasound done and consult a gynae doctor to prescribe you medications for withdrawal.

Hello lybrate-user if the test is negative then it's okay but you should investigate why the cycle is irregular n if there is thyroid or pcod. So thoroughly investigate the underlying cause n get cured.

Dissolve Kidney Stones

Most important things to dissolve kidney stones are to keep your kidneys healthy and keep healthy urine flowing.

How to keep the kidneys healthy?

1. Prevent or control hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and diabetes.
2. Exercise regularly; at least 30 min per day.
3. Take adequate natural vitamins and minerals in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables (except moderation in leafy vegetables, beans and tomato)
4. Reduce salt intake (<4 g /day).
5. Reduce animal protein (chicken, mutton, fish, milk etc) intake.

How to keep your urine healthy?

1. Drink 3 to 4 litre of fluids/day to keep urine output > 2 to 2.5 litre/day.
Make sure that your urine is not yellowish.
2. Increase good minerals like citrate, potassium and magnesium in urine. All these are abundant in fruits, especially citrus fruits like lemon and orange.
3. Decrease bad minerals like calcium, oxalate, uric acid and sodium in urine.
4. Do not reduce calcium intake too much.
Calcium is required for bones, teeth, muscles etc. Moreover, too much reduction in calcium increases oxalate in urine leading to stones. 2 small glasses of milk per day is acceptable.
5. Non-vegetarian diet increases uric acid production. Reduce them.
6. Tea, coffee, tomato, greens, chocolate and beans are rich in oxalate. Moderation is required.

With all these dietary modifications your kidneys may still be excreting large amounts of bad minerals and less of good minerals due to genetic predisposition. These can be checked in 24 hour urine tests. If so, you may need some special medications to prevent stones. Your endourologist will help you customize your dietary pattern and medications to dissolve and prevent further stones.

कुछ लोगों के लिए वज़न बढ़ाना, वजन घटाने से भी ज़्यादा मुश्किल हो सकता है। कुछ लोगों के लिए वजन बढ़ाना मुश्किल होता है क्योंकि वे अधिक सक्रिय हैं, जबकि अन्य स्वाभाविक रूप से पतले हैं क्योंकि उनके पास छोटे ढांचे हैं और वे बड़े और मजबूत (एक्टोमोर्फ्स) होने के लिए नहीं बने हैं। 

वज़न बढ़ाने के लिए आपको अपने शरीर की खपत की तुलना में अधिक कैलोरी खाने की जरूरत है। केवल आपके आहार में कुछ खाद्य पदार्थों को जोड़ना वजन बढ़ाने के लिए बहुत प्रभावी हो सकता है। लेकिन एक पूर्ण वजन बढ़ाने की विधि के लिए प्रशिक्षण और पोषण के साथ में स्थिरता की आवश्यकता होती है।

- मूंगफली का मक्खन
- केले
- एवोकाडो
- आलू
- चॉकलेट
- स्वस्थ अनाज

2. अधिक बार खाओ:
सिर्फ तीन बार खाने के बजाय रोजाना 5-6 बार भोजन करें। आपके खाने के 3 भारी भोजन के अलावा, अपने आहार में 2-3 हल्के भोजन जोड़ें। नाश्ते के लिए, आप नट्स, मेवे, डेयरी उत्पाद आदि का उपभोग कर सकते हैं। वजन बढ़ने के दौरान आप चॉकलेट, पेस्ट्री और अन्य मिठाई वस्तुओं के लिए अपनी तरस को पूरा कर सकते हैं। अक्सर खाने से, हर तीन से चार घंटे में, आपके शरीर को लगातार ऊर्जा स्तर बनाए रखने में मदद मिलती है।

3. अपने प्रोटीन का सेवन बढ़ाएं:
जबकि वजन बढ़ाने के लिए कैलोरी सबसे बुनियादी आवश्यकता होती है, प्रोटीन और कार्बोहाइड्रेट में समृद्ध, संतुलित आहार इस प्रक्रिया को बढ़ावा देने में मदद करता है। ट्यूना, अंडे, चिकन स्तन, चिकन जांघों, पनीर आदि जैसे खाद्य पदार्थों का उपभोग करें, जो प्रोटीन के समृद्ध स्रोत होते हैं। प्रोटीन आपको वज़न हासिल करने में मदद करता है, लेकिन फिट दिखने के साथ। 

4. योग:

गोंद कतीरा सफेद और पीले रंग का बेहद गुणकारी खाद्य पदार्थ है। ये कतीरा पेड़ से निकलने वाली गोंद के सूखने के बाद बनता है।  इसका कांटेदार पेड़ भारत में गर्म पथरीले क्षेत्रों में पाया जाता है। इसकी छाल काटने और टहनियों से जो तरल निकलता है वही जम कर सफेद और पीला हो जाता है, इसे ही पेड़ की गोंद कहते हैं। गोंद कतीरा तासीर में ठंडा होता है, इसलिए  इसे गर्मी में ज्यादा खाया जाता है सर्दी में सेवन उचित नहीं माना जाता। इसमें भरपूर मात्रा में प्रोटीन और फॉलिक एसिड जैसे पोषक तत्व पाए जाते हैं। 

बेहद गुणकारी 
गोंद कतीरा शरीर के खून को गाढ़ा करता है। इसके अलावा ये हृदय रोगों के लिए भी फायदेमंद होता है। ये टॉन्सिल जैसी समस्याएं दूर करता है साथ ही शरीर को बलवान भी बनाता है। यह शरीर से निकलने वाले खून को रोकता है, सांस रोग को दूर करता, खांसी को नष्ट करता व कफ दूर करता है। इतना ही नहीं इसका प्रयोग जहर को उतारने के लिए भी किया जाता है। पेशाब की जलन, मासिकस्राव का कम आना, हाथ-पैरों की जलन, सिर की जलन, खुश्की, अधिक प्यास लगना आदि कई रोग इससे दूर होते हैं।

यहां देखें फायदे:

1. गर्मी से दिलाए राहत, जलन में रामबाण:
अगर आपके हाथ-पैरों में जलन की समस्या हो तो 2 चम्मच कतीरा को रात को सोने से पहले 1 गिलास पानी में भिगों दें। सुबह कतीरा फूल जाए तो इसे शक्कर मिलाकर खाएं। रोजाना ऐसा करने से फायदा मिलेगा। कतीरा लू और हीट स्ट्रोक से भी बचाता है। शरीर में गर्मी महसूस हो रही हो तो कतीरा को पानी में भिगो लें और इस पानी में और मिश्री मिलाएं। शर्बत के साथ कतीरा घोटकर सुबह-शाम लें। इससे शरीर की गर्मी दूर होती है। 

2. रक्त की समस्याओं से दिलाए निजात:
गोंद कतीरा में प्रोटीन और फॉलिक एसिड भरपूर मात्रा में पाए जाते हैं।  शरीर के खून को गाढ़ा करता है। 10 से 20 ग्राम गोंद कतीरा पानी में भिगो कर रख दें और सुबह उसी पानी में मिश्री मिलाकर शर्बत बनाकर पिएं। इस शर्बत से रक्त प्रदर की समस्या भी दूर होती है।

3. कमजोरी करे दूर:
कतीरा रोजाना दूध के साथ लेने से थकान, कमजोरी, चक्कर उल्टी और  माइग्रेन जैसी समस्याओं से राहत मिलती है। आधा ग्लास दूध में गोंद कतीरा कूटकर डालें साथ में मिश्री घोलें। इसे पीने से पित्ती में भी राहत मिलती है।

4. महिलाओं के लिए बेहद फायदेमंद:
महिलाओं में मासिकधर्म में अनियमतिता के चलते अक्सर फॉलिक एसिड या खून की कमी हो जाती है। इसके अलावा बच्चा होने के बाद की कमजोरी,माहवारी की गड़बड़ी या ल्यूकोरिया जैसी समस्याओं में भी ये फायदेमंद होता है। गोंद कतीरा और मिश्री को साथ में पीस लें, फिर इसे दो चम्मच कच्चे दूध में मिलाकर खाएं। वहीं गोंद के लड्डू भी बेहद फायदेमंद होते हैं।

5. पसीने की समस्या से निजात:
जिन लोगों को बहुत पसीना आता है, वे भी गोंद कतीरा का नियमित सेवन कर सकते हैं। उन्हें इस समस्या से निजात मिलेगी।

6. दर्दनाक टान्सिल में राहत:
अगर आप भी दर्दनाक टांन्सिल की समस्या से परेशान रहते हैं तो गोंद कतीरा का इस्तेमाल आजमा सकते हैं। इसके लिए  2 भाग कतीरा और 2 भाग नानख्वा को बारीक पीस लें। अब इसे धनिया के पत्तों के रस में मिलाकर रोजाना गले पर लेप लगाएं, आराम मिलेगा। इसके अलावा लगभग 10 से 20 ग्राम कतीरा को पानी में भिगोकर फुला लें और फिर इसे मिश्री मिले शर्बत में मिलाकर सुबह-शाम पिएं इससे गले में खराश सहित सभी रोगों में फायदा मिलेगा।

7. मूत्ररोग में फायदा:
मूत्ररोगों में भी गोंद कतीरा फायदेमंद है। 10 ग्राम से 20 ग्राम गोंद कतीरा फुलाकर इसे मिश्री के साथ घोंटे और शर्बत बनाकर पिएं।

8. माइग्रेन में लाभकारी:
4 ग्राम मेहंदी के फूल और 3 ग्राम कतीरा मिट्टी के बर्तन में भिगोकर रख दें। इसे रात में भिगोएं और सुबह मिश्री के साथ मिलाकर पिएं, सिरदर्द, माइग्रेन से छुटकारा मिलने के साथ ये बाल झड़ना भी कम करेगा।

9. स्वप्नदोष:
स्वप्नदोष की समस्या है तो रात में एक कप पानी में 6 ग्राम गोंद कतीरा भिगो दें। सुबह ये फूल जाए तो इसमें 12 ग्राम मिश्री मिलाकर खाएं। कुछ ही दिनों में आपको इसका लाभ महसूस होगा।

Mistakes that sabotage a good diet

Eating healthy, eating clean can sometimes be very confusing. With more and more new information coming up every day, one cannot comprehend what is healthy and what not. However, if you understand a few mistakes that can literally sabotage your good diet, you can surely be assured of eating healthy and clean.

1. You can be wrong with juices

Everyone thinks a glass of orange juice or any other fruit juice can do wonders for your health. But the truth is that you will be better off eating the whole fruit rather than the juice.

Why? for the simple reason, that juices lack the fiber content found in fruits. The fibers slow down the digestion of sugar in the fruit whereas their absence in the juice causes the blood sugar to spike and results in insulin resistance.

Besides, packaged juices contain hardly any real fruit, all flavoring and concentrate apart from added sugar, a big wrong in eating clean.

2. Drinking your protein? na! that can be wrong too!

People like bodybuilders, gym goers drink a lot of protein shakes to get their proteins supplemented. However, protein shakes are ok for those who are on the go or for replacing meals sometimes but they cannot be altogether substituted for protein intake.

Your protein must come from your food. Meat, fish, pulses, eggs and dairy cannot be replaced by shakes since you will definitely miss out the nutritional value that whole foods provide.

Besides, protein shakes may have a lot of artificial constituents and refined sugar that can be really bad for you.

3. Can't understand food labels properly? a great mistake!

With more and more people working, many on the move, packaged food cannot be altogether avoided. However, one must make sure to read and understand the food labels.

The food labels reveal what is inside the package. Anything that has the label - organic, raw or gluten-free is not surely healthy. One must know about ingredients especially things like msg, aspartame (artificial sweeteners) etc. That can be really unhealthy.

4. Sugar may be hidden somewhere

Calorie-conscious? avoiding sweets?

Well, even though you are very careful about selecting what you eat and avoid anything that tastes sweet, some sugar may still be hiding in your food increasing your calorie intake, without you knowing about it. Foods like tomato ketchup, pasta sauce, low-fat biscuits/crackers or low-fat dairy products, sandwich bread may all be hiding sugar almost equivalent to that present in a piece of cake. You must learn about hidden sugars and its alternatives to truly understand what you are eating.

I removed my implant on Friday September 30 2016 at about 12 mid day and started the microgynon contraceptive pill at 11 pm the same Friday. I had sex 2 days after. Was it 2 early to have sex without condom since it was only 2 days since I switched to the pill? Am I at risk of getting pregnant?
