At 42 your wife is having hormonal changes and may be some imbalance due to perimenopasal time around menopause, get milk drop tested on slide and get her blood tested for prolactin hormone levels. Some woman for have higher levels of this hormone secreted by higher centre in brain when woman is pregnant but it is higher in non pregnant woman sometimes. Get back here, get an ultrasound of breast done to rule out any underlying nodes.

Scanty menses are also to be considered as normal menses as your urine test is negative. You r not pregnant as you already had menses. Hormonal changes or stress can cause this.

Hello Sir, I have two children. Recently for my wife family planning operation also completed (3 months). Now can I participate with my wife in sex or not.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS

Yes, you can participate in sex as and she wants it......There is NO waiting period to be followed after doing these operation on a female. But sometimes these operations also fail due to the tubes getting fused again and then pregnancy can happen. But this is a rarity. Still seeing a menses, will be the most definitive sign that your sex has NOT resulted in pregnancy in last month

Myth-If I breast feed , I can't have a sex life.

Fact - after delivery, you'll decide when it's time to have sex with your partner. The same hormone that helps to release your milk for the baby (oxytocin) is also made when you have sex. When having sex, you may leak a little breast milk. This is normal.
Moreover till your baby is totally dependent on breast milk, there is minimal chance to conceive again.

Homeopathy for Osteoarthritis: Why is it a Good Option?

MD - Homeopathy, Masters Degree of Homoeopathy
Homeopath
Ask Free Question
Osteoarthritis (oa) is a degenerative disease that affects the various bone joints, leading to painful movement and thereby limiting the patient's mobility. Knees, hips, joints of hands and legs are affected.

Symptoms of oa

The symptoms revolve around the bones and joints including:

Pain and stiffness of the joints
Swelling of the joints
Inability to form a clench
Difficulty holding things
Stooped posture
Weakness of legs and hands
Reduced height over time

Treatment options in allopathy are limited to nonsteroidal analgesics to control pain and in severe cases, surgical correction, in case of oa. However, homeopathy takes into account the triggering symptoms, the associated symptoms, and the status of the immune system before deciding on a treatment regimen.

With this holistic approach, homeopathy achieve the following:

Reduce the pain, swelling and stiffness
Slows the pace of further degeneration
Improves mobility of the affected joint (s)
Improves the body's overall immune system, thereby allow the body to promote healing on its own
Homeopathic intervention in the early phases is particularly helpful, as it will arrest disease progression
It also enable better absorption of minerals and nutrients essential for bone health. This allows healing of existing bone fractures and avoids further bone damage by strengthening the bones
Homeopathic treatment also enables the body's chemical state to withstand stress and illnesses better
It vitalizes the body's natural healing and ability to repair itself, to create a better state of health and well-being

Some of the popular homeopathic medications based on areas and associated symptoms are listed below:

Knee joints:

Bryonia alba: pain worsened with movement, relieved with rest; associated with swelling and stiffness of the joints; difficulty in climbing stairs.
Calcarea carbonica: swelling and pain that is worsened when getting up from a seated position. The joints feel cold and painful.
Sulphur: worse with climbing stairs, prolonged standing, feeling of warmth in the knees.

Hip joints:

Colcynthis: cramping pain improved by pressure.
Rhus toxicodendron: pain when getting up from a seated position.
Pulsatilla nigricans: associated with muscle stiffness and cramping.

Finger joints:

Antimonium crudum: the pain pain gets worse in cold weather, improved by applying something warm)
Benzoic acid: there is an associated crackling sound when the fingers are moved or if there are nodes in the area of joints. The urine is highly offensive in these people.
Calcara fluorica: there are stony hard nodes formed in the joint area, greatly reducing the mobility.

These medications are safe, completely natural, do not induce habit formation, and are approved by fda. They don't just treat the symptoms but help manage the patient as a whole. This justifies why homeopathy is definitely a good option in treating osteoarthritis.

I would advice you to get a Pelvic USG done along with a few blood tests. These include Thyroid function test, FSH,LH,PROLACTIN and a fasting lipid profile and serum insulin. Treatment will then depend on the results of these tests

Hi lybrate-user, ivf is never 100%, their is chance of getting pregnant 30-50% depending upon clinical condition status. Ivf success depends upon good embryology lab also. If you have male factor please try one or more rounds to get pregnant. In the meantime please ask your husband to freeze his semen to prevent complication if further his count detoriates.

Hi lybrate-user you need to get a usg done to rule out any cysts in ovary. Contact me with reports of that. We can cure you with homoeopathic medicines. You have taken hormonal therapy which is usually effective for few months only and that too in some cases. Proper treatment based on detailed history and investigations is needed.

The Unwanted Hair Growth- Hirsutism

Ask Free Question
Hirsutism is a condition of unwanted hair growth in certain areas of a women's face and body, such as upper lip, beard area, chest and abdomen, that creates a "male pattern" of hair growth. It affects around 5-10% of the women and is a common presenting complaint among females for cosmetic reasons.
Hirsutism is attributed either to increased production or increased sensitivity of the hair follicles to the male hormone- testosterone. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which causes irregular menstrual cycles, is the main cause of the same. However in some cases the reasons for the same can be unknown as all reports may seem normal. Such a type is called Idiopathic Hirsutism. It is important for women to not feel shy and embarrassed about the situation. Often resorting to excessive bleaching and razers can harm the skin and the self image of a woman. You should come forward and talk to either a Gyneacologist or an Endocrinologist. The doctors after taking the complete history would advice certain tests that would measure the amount of certain hormones in the blood. If the androgen levels are elevated, doctor may recommend an ultrasound or a CT scan to check ovaries and adrenal glands for tumors or cysts.
The main causes of Hirsutism are:
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: In 70% of the cases PCOS is the cause of Hirsutism. Women with PCOS often have hirsutism in combination with acne, balding near the front of the head, and menstrual irregularities. PCOS is also accompanied by infertility (due to menstrual irregularity), obesity, diabetes , High cholesterol and possible heart disease.
Idiopathic Hirsutism: Idiopathic hirsutism refers to hirsutism that has no identifiable cause. It is usually a mild variation of PCOS. A gradual increased growth of coarse body hair is typically the only symptom in women with this condition. Menstrual cycles are normal in women with idiopathic hirsutism.
Drug Induced: Certain drugs and steroids taken the past can trigger a hormonal imbalance and cause hirsutism
Adrenal or tumour causes: These are rare and are related to tumours or abnormal functioning of the adrenal gland.
Since Hirsutism can be a combination of medical issues self medication is not recommended. There are a variety of ways through which the same can be managed or cured. The treatment options are:
Medical Management: The doctors can recommend a combination of drugs such as oral contraceptives (contain estrogen & progestin that inhibits the male hormone), anti-androgens and insulin sensitive drugs.
Cosmetic Hair Removal: Electrolysis and the modern day safe Laser therapy are sought after cosmetic ways for removal of unwanted hair. The procedures destroy the hair follicles and prevent the hair from growing.
Surgical Therapy: Only in specific cases Laparoscopic ovarian drilling or removal of ovarian & adrenal tumours can help treat Hirsutism.
It is important to understand that this problem is medical and can be treated, managed and cured with expert advice & guidance. Women usually get depressed and have image issues. One should not get distressed; it may be a possibility that the reason may be just a little imbalance in your hormones. Eating healthy, weight loss and exercise are tried and tested natural ways to keep your body fit & balanced.

IS using condom to cover the penis whie intercourse is helpful? If is it so then in my case my husband fingered me without washing his hands. So is there a chance of being pregnant?

No chance as sperms get dead when in comes in contact with air. Condom can break while sex so you need to check for that. That is the reason condom is effective in 98% and not 100%.
