- Dear Lybrateuser, - For a healthy heart follow a healthy lifestyle, have a balanced diet with more of fibrous foods like fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, low fat dairy, non veg, seafood, skinless chicken, a handful of nuts - avoid fried, spicy, processed, junk food, limit tea, coffee intake, avoid foods with saturated & trans fats, avoid alcohol & tobacco if you take - do regular exercise for 30 min, also can do moderate weight lifting twice a week, do yoga, meditation & deep breathing for 10-15 min in the morning - sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs at night - destress by reading, listening to music, follow a hobby, play games, socialize with friends - get regular BP, blood sugar, cholesterol done - to keep cholesterol under check follow the same measures as mentioned earlier.

The first thing you have to do is to develop a positive attitude towards your goal. You need to understand that transforming your physique is going to take a lot of time. These things don't work that easily. It's going to take a lot of hard work and consistency. 1.Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. Begin with body weight exercises like push up, pull up and squats. Weight training proves to be really helpful if you want to gain good quality weight. Train each body part twice a week. For example: Monday/Thursday: Chest + Triceps Tuesday/Friday: Back + Biceps Wednesday/Saturday: Legs + Shoulders Don't forget to warm up for at least 10 - 15 minutes. Warm up includes jumping, rope skipping, treadmill, cycling, stair climbing, etc. 2.Eat Healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 2 - 3 hours. Some of the recommended food items are boiled chicken and eggs, brown rice, brown bread, peanut butter, olive oil (extra virgin), green tea, dry fruits etc. 3.Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4.Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats are best sources of healthy carbohydrates but do not include these items in your dinner. 5.Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Boiled chicken and eggs are the best sources of fat free protein. Sprouts are also rich in protein. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain.

The average size of the erect/aroused penis ranges from 3.2 inches to 6.5 inches, but even lower sizes don't make a difference to the ability to have sex, please one's partner or have children. The aroused female vagina only extends between 3 to 4 inches, and even here, the most sensitive parts are towards the outside. Girth is a little more important, but most important is how you use it. So please focus on the person you are with and make sure your partner enjoys the experience - there is really nothing more important than that in sex. Natural method of treatment of pimples 1.wrap the ice cube in a piece of cloth and hold it on the affected area for few seconds, wait for few minute and repeat the process 2. Dip a clean cotton swab in fresh lemon juice and apply to pimples before going to bed 3.Apply some white tooth paste over the affected area before going to bed and in the morning wash your face with water 4.Fill a large container with hot water and allow the steam to come in contact with your face for few minutes rinse your face with lukewarm water and after drying it apply oil free moisturizer 5. Cut a fresh garlic clove into 2 pieces and rub the garlic in the pimple and leave it for 5 minutes before washing skin with lukewarm water repeat the treatment several times a day 6.Drink lot of water. Butter milk, coconut water. Eat plenty of green leafy vegetables/fruits. Avoid processed/fried/spicy/junk food 7.Consult skin specialist for further advice.

Dear lybrate user, pimples/ acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease which develops due to blocking of the hair follicles in skin. These blockages occur due to 4 abnormal processes: 1) excess sebum production due to androgens 2) excessive deposition of the protein keratin leading to comedone formation 3) infection of propionibacterium acnes (p. Acnes) bacteria on the hair follicles 4) local release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the skin. Neither can you stop the overproduction of androgen or keratin protein nor can you stop the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals because all these processes takes place internally in your skin. However you can stop the accumulation of p. Acnes bacteria on your skin by preventing your skin from getting oily. Always keep a handkerchief with you wherever you go outside. You should wipe off the slightest amount of sweat from your face as soon as you perspire on entering your room from outside wash your face with an oil-free, non-moisturizing face wash. Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink a lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. You can also take homoeopathic calcarea phos 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach also you can apply homoeopathic mother tincture berberis aquifolium q on the dark spots on your skin which are produced after the resolution of the pimples.

Dear, please see that ideal sleep duration is maximum six or seven hours a day. The following tips help one to get fit and avoid sleep disturbance: a) have bath regularly in evening after coming from work or before going to bed. Early to bed and early to rise (awake) is a nice process for natural sleep cycle. B) do not engage mind in active work or stressful talking at night before bed time. C) do not engage mind in too much of computer work in night before bed time (for example, do not do stock market work in night). D) do not read or view illicit or pornographic material at any time preferably. E) do not take heavy meals in night. Best is to have heavy breakfast, lighter lunch and lightest dinner to maintain stomach rhythm which affects sleep. Vegetarian diet is best for good sleep. F) do not over engage mind in television in night. H) do not smoke cigarette, chew tobacco, tobacco containing masala, or similar intoxicants which can disturb rhythm of mind and disturb sleep cycle. I) no tea or coffee in night (preferably cocoa and caffeine containing drinks should be totally avoided for best results). Better is to drink cow's milk in night before sleep time. J) listen to relaxing music and even then if you do not get sleep, then hear soothing stories or nice talks. K) read books which not only calm the mind but also nourish the thinking process. It is best not to depend on sleep medicines for sleep disturbance as in long run, they lead to dependency and increased disturbance. Never rely on alcohol for sleep. Some people use alcohol to help them sleep, but that's not a good idea. At first, drinking alcohol may make you sleepy and help you fall asleep. But when you drink alcohol, you are more likely to wake up later in.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi lybrate-user, Yes according to your height you are underweight. To increase weight you should increase your appetite so you should take small & frequent meal. Take small quantity of food/ food items either you are hungry or not. It will increase your appetite slowly. To gain weight you must consume simple foods, which has enormous amount of calories & protein. Consuming lot of calories doesn’t mean that you have to over eat or over stuff yourself. You must always choose healthy sources of calorie dense foods. Eat foods with high amount of calories than your required metabolism. Never skip your meals and make sure you are including all varieties of foods like fruits, vegetables, cereals and foods with high protein in your diet. Dairy products like milk, yoghurt and cheese are rich in protein and calcium. If you are non-vegetarian then include Egg & meat Egg is a protein rich food with high amount of calories. Nuts are the most nutritious and protein rich food. Fruits are the best sources of carbohydrates, healthy sugars, vitamins and minerals.
