I am suffering from too much of hair fall with dandruff. Especially too much dandruff on front head. What could be a remedy for this?

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
To cure dandruff dandruff is a common scalp problem where white flakes are shed by the scalp and often causes itching. There could be many causes of dandruff; here we give you solutions to get rid of it. Methi is known as a common natural ingredient that can delay the greying of hair and is also the perfect antidote against stubborn dandruff. Soak methi seeds overnight in water and then grind them into a paste. Apply this on your scalp and leave it for a few hours and then wash your hair with shampoo. Curd or dahi is in known to have health and skin benefits. Curd has anti-fungal properties which help banish dandruff and other hair and skin problems. Mix curd with white pepper and apply on your scalp. Keep it on for 30 minutes and wash off.

I have black spots on my back due to pimples. And I used some prescribed creams to get my marks reduced. But I don't find any effect. Can you please suggest me any other best medication?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Homoeopathic cream ANTIMARKS CREAM ( BIOVALLEY) Apply twice daily in circular fashion--- Instead of using the chemical products for your skin, try using some natural home remedies. Using home remedies can work out to be much cheaper than chemical based products and they can help treat your condition without any side effects. Caring for your skin is highly important. Here are some home remedies that allow your skin to be free of dark spots, black spots or pimple marks or even acne scars----Take pulp from Aloe Vera leaves and let it dry in the sun for 5 minutes and then add few drops of lemon juice to the dried pulp. Apply this mixture on the spots and wash it off after 15 minutes. The results are quite good.

I regularly shave twice a week. Its been a month that one side corner of my moustache has disappear I have consulted my family doctor for the same he said its fungal infection and advise me to use ketoconazole based shampoo. But I can't see any progress please suggests.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Bangalore
There are two possibilities in your case. 1. As your doctor suspected - fungal infection. But if you need to use Ketoconazole for about 3 weeks to see the results. Hair regrowth takes time 2.Alopecia areata - a condition that is becoming common among youngsters these days. To diagnose this, you need to meet a doctor in person. So my suggestion is wait for two more weeks and then take a call meanwhile there is a wonderful home remedy to aid mustache re growth - Make a paste of cumin powder and lemon juice - apply to affected area. Rub for three minutes and then wash it off with warm water. After that apply castor oil to the affected area.

Measures To Reduce Hair Loss Diet rich in vitamins, minerals esp fruits & green leafy vegetables should be included in maximum regular exercise, yoga avoid hair dyes avoid washing hair frequently avoid vigorous scalp massage/brushing identifying causes related to stress Homoeopathic Aspect of hairfall- Homoeopathy has a lot to offer in hairfall but it requires some time Identifying the causes like maintaining cause or precipitating cause would prove to be beneficial Constitutional medicine approach as well as anti–miasmatic cause is required for better results Following medicines are useful in treating alopecia Lycopodium Graphites Thuja Phosphoric–acid Selenium Mancinella Fluoric–acid Can notharis Phosphorus China Sepia Caution–avoid self medication as detailed history is required in each & every case Thus Homoeopathy alongwith proper diet & regimen, regular exercises would prove to be a great ray of hope for the patients of alopecia or hair–fall.

Hi I am having lichen planus skin disease earlier there were having only two three bumps now it is increasing 90% are on my right leg Shown to doctor he has given me steroids which has resulted in weight increase.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Lichen planus occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks cells of the skin or mucous membranes. On skin, lichen planus appears as purplish, itchy, flat-topped bumps. On mucous membranes, such as in the mouth, it forms lacy, white patches, sometimes with painful sores. Lichen planus usually goes away on its own. If symptoms are bothersome, topical creams and oral antihistamines may help.

Lupus - 7 Common Types!

Lupus - 7 Common Types!

Some diseases like chicken pox, measles etc. have definitive symptoms that make it easy to diagnose. However, others like lupus affect each person in a different way making them complex diseases that may take longer to diagnose. Lupus attacks the immune system and causes the antibodies that would normally fight infection to react against the body’s own cells and tissues. There are two main forms of lupus; systemic lupus that affects any part of the body and cutaneous lupus that affects the skin. These can occur simultaneously or on their own.

Some of the rashes that can be caused by cutaneous lupus are:

  1. Malar rash or butterfly rash: This affects the face and appears as a butterfly shaped rash over the nose and cheeks. It is triggered by the sun’s uv rays and can appear as a faint blush or a severe, scaly rash.
  2. Discoid lupus: Lupus can also cause small. Coin shaped sores or rashes. These are reddish and scaly in appearance and usually affect parts of the body exposed to sunlight and uv radiation. If left untreated, these sores can worsen with time. Though they do not cause pain or itchiness, they can result in scarring. In cases where these sores develop on the scalp, they can cause permanent bald patches.
  3. Subacute cutaneous lesions: These can be described as small, red sores that are shaped like coins. These can be found on the arms, shoulders, neck and chest in patches that resemble psoriasis. These lesions are also triggered by uv exposure. Though they do not cause scarring, these lesions can lighten or darken skin.
  4. Mucous membrane lesions: Sores in the mouth or nose that have been triggered by lupus are known as mucous membrane lesions.
  5. Baldness: Lupus can make the hair follicles near the scalp fragile and brittle. This can destroy the hair follicles and lead to hair fall. In some cases, hair may grow back while in others it could result in permanent baldness.
  6. Cutaneous vasculitis lesions: These refer to purplish spots or lines on the calves and feet. This is caused by the inflammation of skin tissues and can cause severe damage and gangrene.
  7. Raynaud's phenomenon: When exposed to cold, the skin on your fingers and toes may also change colour to red, white or blue due to lupus. This is triggered by the tightening of blood vessels and may be accompanied by a tingling sensation or numbness. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

Use natural face pack of multani mitti and lemon 2 times a week. You can also use apple cider vinegar with mother for 5 mins after washing your face and splash it clean with water. Most important is diet- do not eat junk, eat more vegetables and fruits especially with vitamin c.

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
Safflower oil for hair fall For preventing hair loss and baldness safflower oil can be used. This oil is rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids which are vital for healthy hairs. You can find two varieties of safflower oils in the market, both of which can be used for hair care. Safflower oil is helpful for permed, colored and dry hair. Use safflower oil for massaging the scalp. Leave it on overnight and rinse in the next morning. Use it every alternate day to get healthy hair.
