When I wake up in the morning my mouth smells very very bad, than after brushing also my mouth start smelling after few min, brushing 2 times a day don't make any effect on my bad breath. My friends say you have unusual smell in your mouth because of which I am not able to talk with anyone. This unpleasant smell is not for sometime ,its whole day. Do not know why. Please help me. Dear Lybrate user, I can fully understand the social impact that bad breath can cause. Bad breath can be due to several reasons where 90% of the times, it is due to an unclean tongue. Pay special attention towards cleaning your tongue while brushing. Since you're already done with scaling, you have to follow some maintenance tips now. Rinse your mouth after every meal. At times, the teeth alignment is such that it causes food particles to remain stuck between teeth for a long time. Rinsing will help you get rid of extra food particles. Make a habit to floss after every meal. Go to you tube and watch some flossing videos for a demonstration. It is the best and most effective way to keep your mouth clean. Sadly, it is not recommended much by dentists routinely. Less salivary secretion can also cause bad breath. Chewing sugarfree gums like orbit after meals will help. Saunf (fennel), mint leaves (pudina) are natural breath fresheners. Keep yourself hydrated, consume plenty of water as it helps the body to get rid of bacteria and toxins. Avoid onions and garlic in your meals. Maintain a healthy diet, consume more fibre/salads, foods rich in vitamin. Don't use your mouthwash beyond 15 days. Some medicines and underlying liver or kidney conditions also cause bad breath so consult your general physician too. Don't worry, hope these tips help.

I felt in an bike accident on 3 years back. At that time my 3 teeth has broken, on of the tooth has broken half and had root canal treatment to it. Now am planning to replace my broken teeth. Is bridge replacement is better for me or implantation? Amd what will be the cost for each of the treatment. Please reply me. My age is 22. This became a big problem for me :-(.

If you have root canal treatment done, why do you want to extract your tooth. If there is a problem with root canal, then go for re rct or apicectomy whatever your dentist suggests. And take a crown over RC treated tooth for looks. Go for E max if you want excellent esthetics, but try to be with your real tooth, dont get them extracted

Hi doc. Is it possible to recover from cavity naturally or any other way other than drilling and filling teeth.

Hi doc.
Is it possible to recover from cavity naturally or any other way other than drilling and filling teeth.
Apply turmeric powder on your cavity. Leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse your mouth. Another option is to mix turmeric powder in sesame oil and apply it on your teeth. Leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse your mouth.

I had my first sitting of root canal treatment on my wisdom tooth as it was not properly emerged and got infected. The removal was a small OT and I was hesitant of that. The first sitting was a bit painful at times. Can RCT be painful? The doctor told me that the abcess was deep and that caused pain.

Hi lybrate-user RCt is not painful as they put local anaesthesis and then you can not feel the pain. But when the sitting is done and the effect of anaesthesia is over then you can feel slight pain as the nerves are being operated so the dentist prescribes you painkillers for that time. So all in all no pain in the procedure. And do not take abscess or RCT lightly and should be done on time! Takecare.

Generally cause could be deposits due to poor oral hygiene. Visit a dentist, get it cleaned and follow the oral hygiene instructions. In the mean time you can use a mouthwash.

Removable dentures are made to wear only during day time. Do not wear them overnight as it can cause a fungal infection like candidiasis. Also keep your dentures clean to keep it infection free.

Using an appropriate tooth paste is very necessary for the health of our teeth. Tooth pastes which contain flouride help in keeping the teeth healthy by reducing the risk of tooth decay.
