Hi, This cannot be predicted by anyone as it depends on the harmonal secretion in the body. One has to wait till she gets her periods. Some women do not menstruate till 9 months to 1 year as they are feeding the child; but some may start menstruating right from 3 rd month itself.

Hi lybrate user Painful menses are termed as dysmenorrhoea which is very common . You can manage it by using hot water bottle during the pain. Also regular yoga exercises stretches nd strenthens the muscles which causes less pain during menses. You can also have tea with a pinch of cinnamon powder in it, it really helps in decreasing the pain. Take care

Vitamin A is Essential for Various Body Functions

B.Sc, BHMS
Homeopath, Lucknow
Vitamin A is Essential for Various Body Functions

Vitamin A is essential for various body functions, the most important are vision, immunity, skin and hair health and correct genetic transcription. Signs of vitamin A toxicity include bone pain, brittle nails, hair loss, fatigue, dry and fissured skin and abnormal liver function. Deficiency of Vitamin A leads to night blindness.

Some interesting fatcs about vitamin A:

Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin, thus requires fat for effective absorption.
Normal level of vitamin A required for proper body functioning is about 3000 mg per day. A person could also end up eating more of Vitamin A on a regular basis, which could lead to vitamin A toxicity. If it is consumed from natural sources, it is not harmful; however, if synthetic vitamin A is consumed, it may end up as a toxin in the body.
Every 100 g of sweet potato contains about 19200 IU of vitamin A. Sweet potato can be consumed in cooked, baked, cubed, raw or frozen form. It can be used in multiple ways and is one of the most vitamin A rich foods.
Carrots is the most popular rich source of vitamin A. Every child knows that carrots are good for vision and eye health. Carrots can also be consumed in baked, cooked, raw or frozen form.
Green leafy vegetables are another rich source of vitamin A. This could be spinach, lettuce, beet greens, turnip greens, collards, kale, or other greens. Each of them contains sufficient amounts of vitamin A, and including about 100 g provides about 14000 IU of vitamin A. These can be used as salad dressings or cooked with lentils to make variety of dishes.
The liver from any animal is the most effective nonvegetarian source of vitamin A. Consuming liver 2 to 3 times per day gives sufficient amounts vitamin A for men, women and children. Cod liver oil, which are available widely in the market are also a good source, if meat is not available.
Dry fruits, such as apricots, which are sundried and used when there is no season for apricots, are another rich source of vitamin A. Dried peaches and prunes are also good sources for this vitamin.
Consuming about 2 egg yolks per day provides all the required vitamin A for your body. It does contain cholesterol, but the body does need small amount of cholesterol too for various functions.
Dairy products, such butter and cream from cow's milk which are especially fed on grass are again great sources of vitamin A.
Small amounts of vitamin A are also present in cantaloupe melons, pumpkins, squash fruits, beetroot, bell peppers and most importantly in seasonal fruits.

I am 8th month pregnant and I am suffering from gastric problem. Can I take medicine?
Gastric problems in last trimester of pregnancy are mainly due to reflux and increased abdominal pressure following tips may be helpful. Avoid eating full meals eat small meals at frequent intervals. Change your sleeping posture sleep in semi reclined postion with head high. Avoid consuming too many liquids. Prefer semiisolid food instead. You can take homeopathy medicine nat phos 6x 3 pills 3 times a day for a month. Trust me its absolutely safe.

What to do in first three months for not to miscarriage or for healthy growth of baby.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist,
What to do in first three months for not to miscarriage or for healthy growth of baby.
Miscarriage never happens due to any deed! it may happen due to many causes like fever, infection, uterine anomalies, abnormal uterine lining support etc, but the most common cause of abortion or miscarriage is" chromosomal abnormalities" when a sperm and ovum meet to form a pregnancy, there is mixing of the 23 chromosomes from each, resulting in a baby. But st times during this mixing, the chromosomes get duplicated or lost and thus abnormal embryoes are produced. Nature selects the fittest by growth, those who have small problems or no problems, usually grow and continue the pregnancy, but those embroyoes which have major chromosomal anomaly get aborted. Since this event happens in the body, one cannot find out whether the embryo is normal or not till it stops growing. For a woman desirous of pregnancy, it is better to be healthy and fortified with folic acid supplements. So in a way except taking folic acid tablets there is nothing much one can do to ascertain prevention of miscarriage. In some patients who have previous history of abortion or have precious pregnancy happenning after a infertility treatment or test tube baby or elderly patient, doctors give some injections or tablets to help the baby grow by preventing some problems like uterine lining problem etc. Eat every 2-3 hourly to prevent nausea. Eat good salads take vitamins take rest when you can, to get 8 hours sleep. Avoid exertion and do not start any exercises which you have not done till pregnancy. All this and the tender loving care of the people at home and being under a gynecologists care will ensure your pregnancy grows well.

On the reverse side of the spectrum, an overactive thyroid gland can cause diarrhea or more frequent bowel movements, which is why they're symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Longer menstrual periods with a heavier flow and more cramps can be a sign of hypothyroidism, where thyroid hormones are in short supply. Women with PCOS usually have a history of irregular periods. In addition to causing infertility, PCOS can increase the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Other illnesses. Thyroid disorders can cause irregular periods if blood levels of the thyroid hormone go too low or too high. Uncontrolled hyperthyroidism during pregnancy can lead to serious health problems in the mother and the unborn baby. During pregnancy, mild hyperthyroidism does not require treatment. More severe hyperthyroidism is treated with antithyroid medications, which act by interfering with thyroid hormone production. As a result, the normal thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) level during pregnancy is lower than the normal nonpregnancy level. The new recommendations for TSH levels during pregnancy are the following: First trimester: less than 2.5 with a range of 0.1-2.5. Second trimester: 0.2-3.0.
