With many technological advances, our attention span has decreased drastically from what it used to be. We spend significantly more time glued to our screens and have an increased amount of stimuli from the environment. This results in our focus constantly shifting.  

Your memory capacity on the other hand is limitless. The human brain has the ability to store more than 1 quadrillion pieces of data. This is only the average amount of data being recorded throughout our lives and 99% of the information from our environment gets discarded.

Here are some ways in which you can improve your memory and attention:

  • Exercise:

Regular exercise helps supply oxygen to the brain which can help reduce the risk of memory loss and other related problems.

  • Getting enough sleep:

It is said that the average adult needs 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Even one hour less can reduce problem solving skills, memory and creativity.

  • Laughing:

The phrase “laughter is the best medicine” doesn’t only hold true for physical ailments but also helps in improving memory. It helps people think more broadly and connect ideas more freely.

  • The power of music:

Numerous studies show that listening to music without lyrics helps increase your ability to focus. Music has proven to be very calming and soothing for people. This very quality is what helps boost your concentration and focus.

  • Identifying stressors:

Stressors act as a magnet and pulls away our concentration. A way to rectify this is to “clean up” your mind. Get rid of all the stressors by taking a few deep breaths before you start your work. This will help you concentrate and focus on your desired task for longer periods of time.

  • Test your attention span:

Cut out newspaper articles with three paragraphs. Cross out the any one vowel in the article.

  • If you have skipped letters in the first paragraph – attention span dips at the beginning.

  • If you skip letters in the second paragraph (and not in first or third) – attention is lost halfway and returns slowly.

  • If you skip letters in the second paragraph and in the third – you have a short attention span and other activities along with this must be conducted regularly to increase it.

  • If you skip letters in the third paragraph – attention span decreases towards the end.

This activity can be done often to check improvement in attention span.

Hi, Headache could be because of various reasons. Your headache could be due to stress/fatigue/tension or it could be an indication to another type of headache called migraine. Since the exact cause of your headache and symptoms are not known, I would advise the following - 1. Try to take adequate rest. 2. Distract yourself from TV/ Computer or anything that puts a pressure on your eyes and head. 3. Keep yourself stress free. 4. Try to take adequate sleep. 5. Take Tablet Paracetamol 500mg after taking food (as and when required). I am 25 year old and I have asthmatic allergy during season change. Despite of taking precautions I am unable to breathe. Wheezing. Cough. Cold. Sleepless nights. I am taking nebulizer twice a day and deriphline retarded and omnicortil was prescribed. However sometime that does not work. What should I do?

If problem in particular months then start budamate 200 pdi 1 transcaps twice/day with transpacer followed by mouth wash with telekast m 1 tab 5 pm. Continue these medicine through bad months. Your requirement of nebulizer should reduce and try to stap omnacortil.

masturbating twice a week is normal and acceptable.If excessive can cause erection problem.Masturbation as such does not have any side effects like weight loss or pimples.

This is regarding my 13 plus years daughter. She is suffering from Dandruff problem due to which her heirs are falling continuously and now heirs are too light. We are giving her Candid 8 lotion and 8 x Shampoo on local doctor prescription but no benefit. Still too much Dandruff n heir falling. She also has thyroid problem due to which she is gaining weight. simple ways for a restful sleep 1. Cut down on caffeine: Caffeine drinkers may find it harder to fall asleep. Even a single cup of coffee in the morning may lead to a sleepless night. Caffeine blocks the effects of adenosine, a neurotransmitter thought to promote sleep. Caffeine can also interrupt sleep by increasing the need to urinate during the night. Because caffeine withdrawal can cause headaches, irritability, and extreme fatigue, it may be easier to cut back gradually rather than to go cold turkey. Those who can’t or don’t want to give up caffeine should avoid it after 2 p.m., or noon if they are especially caffeine–sensitive. 2. Stop smoking or chewing tobacco: Nicotine is a central nervous system stimulant that can cause insomnia. If you continue to use tobacco, avoid smoking or chewing it for at least one to two hours before bedtime. 3. Limit alcohol intake: Alcohol depresses the nervous system, so a nightcap may seem to help some people fall asleep. Alcohol suppresses REM sleep, and the soporific effects disappear after a few hours. Alcohol also worsens snoring and other sleep breathing problems. 4. Worry and stress causes sleeplessness. Find out what hurts you and resolve the issue.

1. Avoid drinking water with meals. Drink 1/2 to 1 he before/ after meal. 2. Take 15 mins light walk before main meals. 3. Avoid snacking just before a meal 4. Have small meals at 2-3 hrs intervals which are high in nutrient & calorie density But low in volume. 5. Practice strength exercises daily.

Is it good to take 3-4 limcee tablets per day when we had blunt injury in the eye?

Hi, limcee is good as it helps in healing and improves your imunity to some extent, but one tablet a day is sufficient for maybe 15-20 days. Do not overdose yourself.
