Am asking this for my sis. She is 22 yrs of old now, she has severe pain on her both leg muscles (from thump to knee) in every night and sometimes during day time also. We conducted a lot of checkups and even scanned her legs. But no one can identify the exact and she is suffering with the same. Please give me a high valuable answer to get rid the pain of her.

Kindly show me digital x rays of legs & other investigation reports sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days bio d3 max 1tab od do neck, back & shoulder exercises it may have to be further investigated you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Plantar fasciitis is a common problem with women. The exact line of treatment can be determined only after a physical examination. I suggest you 1. Apply cold pack on the heal and the surrounding areas 2. Do stretching exercise for calf and ankle. 3. Have you gained weight off late? 4. If the pain does not go with cold pack and exercise or keeps reoccurring then you should consider using an orthotic in your foot wear.

Try getting your blood vitamin d3, blood calcium and blood vitamin b12 levels checked. Their deficiencies can cause muscular and bone weakness. Start going exercises for the legs at the same time. As you are only 23 years old there may not be any other reason.

Hi Mr. lybrate-user Your heel pain is definitely because of your low vitamin d levels you need to take vitamin d supplementation Vit d (cap Lumia) 60,000 IU for three days then once a week for 3 months Also you are diabetic and need to start diabetes medication you should meet an endocrinologist and also get your HBA1C levels checked.

Yes, you can opt for hyaluronidase injections if all oral therapies have failed. In my opinion, usually better oral medicines are available these days, so I usually don't prefer such costly injections. This treatment is restricted to only a few where the problem is severe and not responding. The effect usually lasts for 6 months or more. 1. Dust allergy could be because of so many agents (it could be due to pollen, mite, feathers, dander, mold, droppings of birds, pet hair/feather/fur cockroach etc) 2. I advise you to do an allergy test after consulting an allergy specialist/immunologist to find out the agent which is causing dust allergy. 3. Follow the advice and treatment given by allergy specialist/immunologist. Treatment 1. Anti histamine like levo cetrizine 1 tablet at bed time 2. Decongestant steroidal nasal dropspray like rhino cort nasal spray one spray to each nostril three times daily, 3. Remove wall to wall carpet in bed room, 4. Keep pets out of bed room/house 5. Minimise house hold humidity 6. Keep home clean, ensure good ventilation, vacum cleaning of carpet, furniture, drapperies, wash bed linen frequently in hot water, instal a/c, 7. Use face mask when going out 8. Consult allergist for further advice.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Health Tip Knee Pain and Exercise Therapy

 

Knee pain is second most pain next to back pain in middle age. It could be due to physical injury or by pathological reasons. And correct alignment should be maintained in sitting walking or standing involving body pressure to the limbs expecially to knees. In case of pathological causes should be watched and followed to control infections or to improve immunological components in the body to support the efficiency in managing the resistance against all agents

 

Exercise science or therapy plays a very vital role in controlling the pain and to reduce symptoms. The foremost exercises are to strengthen the quadriceps and hamstring muscles, which could be done by keeping a pillow or small bedsheets preferably cotton beneath knee and pressing hard for 5 to 7 seconds and repeating the same for 15 times resting for 3 second in every repitations (see the pic attached). And hamstring muscle strengthening by lifting straight into 90% without bending the knees and holding the same for 3 to 5 seconds as possible and repeating it for 10 to 15 times for one duration, better to do for twice daily in stipulated time regularly, along with calcium rich and vitamin d3 in sufficlient level.

 

For pain even hot and cold water fomentation for thrice a day for 5 days regularly can be given to receive locally, for worst pain management physiotherapy interferential therapy (ift) and vacuumtherapy can be given for 7 to 10 days followed by strengthening exercise under guidance from physiotherapist

I am having niggling pain in my right ankle from last few months.Its generally there when I start walking after sitting for long and sometimes its not there also. What can be the cause?

Hi thanks for the query. I would exactly know if the pain is at the ankle or at the heel. If the pain is from the ankle if there is any injury in to the ankle. Mostly the pain around the ankle is due to any recent injuries or some time due to some wear and tear in the ankle joint. I would like you to consult your orthopedician and get treated.
