The type of treatment you have for toothache /sensitivity/swelling will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

My cousin has just got a tooth removal what should he opt for bridge or an implant?

My cousin has just got a tooth removal what should he opt for bridge or an implant?
Implant can be placed only when there is good bone density and good healing process in your body, needs proper investigations before the treatment. But bridge can be placed if the tooth is strong in its place itself. And implant is costlier than bridge.Benefit of implant is-it donot involves the adjacent tooth. Both has its own pros and cons.Prognosis of both depends upon your case study.Kindly consult me in person.

Saving a fallen tooth can be useful. Try to keep it in place while you seek immediate medical attention. If that is not the case, try wrapping the tooth in a piece of plastic or soaking it into milk and call for immediate dental service.

Whether the problematic tooth should be saved or not should be decided by the dental doctor only. It's not dangerous at all when the treatment is carried out by experienced and qualified doctor. So don't worry and get the second opinion from another doctor if you have any doubts before getting the treatment done.

Firstly it has to be diagnosed whether it is your teeth/tooth tat bothers you. Then the bothering teeth should be taken an x-ray, has to undergo root canal treatment followed by crown or bridge placement which will relieve you.

Precaution should be taken.
If the tooth breaks, have the tooth contoured. Fill the crack in. Place a crown on your tooth. If the tooth has been badly damaged and the nerve or pulp is exposed, the dentist may have to perform a root canal to save the tooth. If the tooth has been severely damaged, it may have to be extracted.

Stomach acids are necessary for the digestion of food. However, if too much acid develops in the stomach, it can cause acid reflux (heartburn) or a disease called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Obesity, pregnancy, and other medical conditions can also lead to increased stomach acid. Management: - Avoid fried, fatty, spicy food, chocolates, tomatoes and citrus fruits. - Eat smaller, more frequent meals. - Give your digestive system an assist from gravity by not eating too close to bedtime. Wait at least 3 hours after eating before you lie down. - Lose excess weight. - Avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages. - Stop smoking. Smoking interferes with digestion and can damage the lining of the esophagus. - Wear loose fitting clothes. Tight waistbands compress the internal organs and may block digestion. - Raise the head of your bed 4 or 5 inches higher than the foot. - Get enough sleep. Try sleeping on your left side. - Avoid stretching or bending after meals. - Chewing your food thoroughly makes it easier to swallow and digest, thus reducing or preventing symptoms of heartburn. - Drink plenty of water. Water has a neutral pH, which can help neutralize stomach acids and help your body absorb nutrients easily.
