I am having uterine fibroids as per diagnostic reports. So what to do right now? Their size is 35 x 29 mm approx. And other one is 18 mm diameter.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
If you do not have any symptoms like excessive bleeding or irregular bleeding or pain during periods , then the fibroids can be managed conservatively. The size of the fibroids is not important rather it is the symptoms of the patient that will define the treatment. If the fibroids have been picked up as a routine ultrasound finding, then you can follow up with regular ulrasounds every 6 months to make sure that there is no abnormal increase in the size of the fibroids. If the fibroids cause excessive bleeding , excess pain (which cannot be managed with medicines) or increase abnormally in size then only you need to undergo surgery. Also the fibroids tend to decrease in size after menopause.

due thyroid irregular period may occurs .for it you can take..tab. ovral-L X 21 DAYS..WAIT FOR 7 DAYS AND START AGAIN FROM 6 TH DAY OF MENSES..TILL 3 CYCLE OF MENSES.. SYP. AMYCORDIAL 15 ML TDS AFTER MEAL..REGULAR FOR 3 CYCLE OF MENSES.Lifestyle changes. Some women have changes in their period because they exercise too much. Reducing the frequency and intensity of your workouts may help your period return to normal. Stress leads to many body changes, including irregular periods. Relaxation techniques and counseling may be helpful. Extreme changes in your weight can affect your periods. Weight gain can interfere with the body's ability to ovulate, which controls your menstrual cycle. Losing weight may help resolve irregular periods. Extreme sudden weight loss can also lead to infrequent or irregular periods. Hormone therapy (HT). An irregular menstrual cycle is often due to a lack or imbalance of certain hormones in the body. Birth control pills (oral contraceptives) often containing the hormones estrogen and progesterone are commonly prescribed to help control irregular periods. A hormone medication called progestin can also help trigger periods in women who do not get them. Other hormone treatments may be prescribed to women with irregular periods who are having difficulty getting pregnant. Surgery. Sometimes, scarring or structural problems in the uterus (womb) or fallopian tubes may lead to irregular periods. Surgery may be done to correct any structural problems or birth defects, particularly in women who want to have children. It may also be done to remove severe scar tissue (adhesions) in the reproductive tract.

Hello, polymenorrhea if its has bene the first episode is likely to be stress induced and one needs to observe the next 2 cycles as well for similar bleeding before establishing a diagnosis. You may opt for antifibrinolytics if bleeding is to be controlled.

Hair In Ears - How It Is A Sign Of Warning?

MD - Dermatology, MBBS

Hair In Ears - How It Is A Sign Of Warning?

We all would have noticed that with age, hair growth along the earlobe crease is not something abnormal. We all have seen people who develop these as a part of ageing. There was nothing unusual about it at all. However, what is unusual is that science has found a very interesting correlation between heart attacks and hair on the ears.

Yes, it does sound very unusual, but there have been studies conducted which say that hair growth on the ears could be one of the first warning signs of the onset of coronary artery disease.

What is coronary artery disease?

The heart is a pump that sends out and receives blood from the rest of the body through a channel of highly interconnected blood vessels. The ones which carry pure blood to the rest of the body are known as arteries and the ones which collect impure blood and bring it to the heart are known as veins. Due to changing food patterns and sedentary lifestyle, there is a lot more fat in the body, which also travels through the blood. Due to their heavier nature, they settle along the walls of the blood vessels, thereby narrowing the blood vessel thickness and reducing the blood flow to the various organs. This is the onset of coronary artery disease.

Early Indicators of coronary artery disease:

  • Hair loss (often premature, either in the temple region or the crown)
  • Fatty deposits on the eyelids
  • Earlobe crease i.e people with diagonal earlobes are more likely to develop heart disease
  • Hair in the ears

The last two are interrelated, as hair growth in the ears is more common in people with diagonal ear lobes.

The next correlation is between testosterone and hair growth in the ears.

People with more testosterone in their bodies are more likely to develop body hair, including in the ears. Scientifically, it has been established that people with greater amounts of testosterone are more likely to develop heart disease. Interestingly, the correlation is stronger in younger age groups.

Another interesting fact is that though coronary artery disease is linked to the presence of ear hair in both men and women. However, sudden cardiac death was more common in men than in women. Both these had hair growth, though.

There is another group which dismisses this theory saying that with age, both hair growth and coronary artery disease are likely to develop, and there is no significant correlation between the two. However, if taken as an early warning sign, ear hair growth can definitely guide in taking preventive measures, which can help control the problem in its early stage, which is definitely welcome to improve the overall quality of life! If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

Dear user. Sperm do not survive in room temperature and once dry they all die. In this case, you have washed your hands and then it was dry too and only then you fingered her vagina. Don't worry. There is no chance of pregnancy. Take care.
