With my right hang back side is pain. I see one gynaecologist and take scan. In scanning repot is duct ectasia. What is this? it is cancer? I am worried. Please help me. What I do?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
It is not cancer. You can put hot water bags or clothes dipped in hot water and take hifenac-p tab. If there is milk, express it out. What is the age of the baby? regarding online consultation there are certain points which all should know and follow the description of the diseases should be complete in all respects, including any tests done and any medicines already taking. Just saying I have diabetes since 10 years and taking metformin or I have thyroid disease, cannot help a discerning doctor give a scientific advice.

Nasal drop is best drug here. Give saline nasal drop by entering the nozzle inside nostril and press it. The forceful flow will remove the congestion. If it's more then in market one nose suction bulb available use it. Otherwise dileys mucous sucker is best.

Causes and symptoms of Baby Bottle Tooth Decay

Diploma in Paediatrics, MD (Physician)
Pediatrician, Gurgaon
Causes and symptoms of Baby Bottle Tooth Decay

Baby bottle syndrome is a decay that affects the milk teeth in children who fall asleep with a bottle containing sugary drinks. Prolonged contact between the liquid and the surface of the teeth promotes the destruction of tooth enamel.

Causes and symptoms

The symptoms of baby bottle tooth decay are discoloration of the tooth (enamel), with the formation of yellow or black spots on the surface.

When a child falls asleep with a bottle containing sugary liquids such as milk, fruit juice, sugar water, or with a pacifier dipped in honey or syrup - bacteria present in the mouth, (streptococcus mutans to be precise) transform the sugar into lactic acid.

Normally, the saliva helps to neutralize this acidity, but its production declines during sleep. Thus, teeth are subjected to acid attacks that promote the formation of cavities. As milk teeth are weaker than permanent teeth, decay can be quick with enamel getting hit first, then dentin and finally the pulp in the centre of the tooth.

At this stage, the infection can spread rapidly to other teeth, causing significant pain when the dental abscess formation often requires removal of the damaged teeth.

Precautions

To avoid it, the first thing to do of course is to stop giving your child a sweetened drink at night or when putting the child for a nap. You should also brush your baby's milk teeth twice a day, especially at bedtime with a cotton swab and water and in a year - with a toothbrush and toothpaste.

In case, the teeth are already decayed or you have doubts about it (staining of the tooth that becomes pink or white can be the harbinger of decay), consult a paediatric dentist immediately. Decayed milk teeth may lead to deformation of the permanent teeth if not attended to immediately.

About feeding child: can I feed my 4th month baby cow powdered milk .is it safe, if can pls tell me about dosage.
Yes you can and there is no specific dosage. You make 30 or 60 ml milk and feed with spoon or sipper and not bottle feed. Any waste has to be discarded and not kept for later use .Breast milk has to be continued and formula feed can be given after breast milk only . From 4th month you can give home made semi solids mashed well also

If he is bottle fed it is a reason and you avoid bottle fed and feed from spoon. If the baby is not feeding it is (can be) a sign of infection) and need check up.

Common causes: is an infection or ,Cow's milk protein allergy. Infection can be because of bottle feeds due to inadequate sterilization. Also putting hands or cloth in the mouth may cause it. Hence get a stool culture test. Also give only breast feeds for 6 months. CMPA can be because of giving top feeds, even formula. It can also happen due to milk products consumption by mother who is breast feeding. Stopping cows milk in mother and child is the answer. Soya formulas may be used.

Hi your concern is totally valid, but the problem with extremly low birth weight babies is that even if they look good, there are chances they might go in apnea (sudden cessation of breathing) and they are prone to temp irreugalrities thats why doctors are not discharging the baby. I suggest let them do their work and take discharge are per the doctors advice.
