Which type of medicine are used in mouth opening because my mouth is not properly open and not eating any spicy food.

Dentist, Chennai
Which type of medicine are used in mouth opening because my mouth is not properly open and not eating any spicy food.
Quit habits strictly. Seems like you have oral submucous fibrosis (osmf). Kindly consult an oral & maxillo facial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need conservative or surgical management for mouth opening depending upon the stage of osmf. Advise full mouth opening, ballooning exercise & side to side movement of the jaw. Wrap 25 to 30 ice-cream sticks, make a bundle, put it between upper & lower front teeth for 15 minutes thrice a day increase 1 sticks each day.

Cavity has extended to the dental pulp, which is sensitive portion of your teeth. Rct (root canal treatment) may be required.

Instead of Brushing twice daily, i would recommend my patients to brush once in the morning properly, rinse after every meal/snacks and use a dental floss and mouthwash daily. Mouthwash to be used at night half an hour before sleeping. Sooner in India, we will have a trend of water floss which is a revolution in oral care. Its already available on e-commerce websites and is highly successful in United States. Visiting a dentist every six months for a regular check up is must.

I have four cavities in my lower and upper teeth. Should I do root canal for it?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,

We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning and artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

My tooth filling dropped out I am scared to go again to the dentist. What should I do to cure it at home?

My tooth filling dropped out I am scared to go again to the dentist. What should I do to cure it at home?
•If there is a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection.

Food which is sweet in nature should be consumed as little as possible as the dental plaque present in the teeth reacts and converts them into acids.

Am 29 yes old, and am getting left side pain from ear jaw and chest from 2 year.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Certified Implantologist, BDS
Dentist,
It may be due to your tooth problem or heart problem. There is a shift in the trend of cardiac disorders. Earlier it was confined to elderly people but recently more younger ones (as young as 25 years) are getting affected too. This is mainly due to change in the life style. So I will advise you to go in following sequence 1) take tab rantac 150 mg before food. See if your chest pain is relieved. 2) consult a dentist to rule out any dental or temporomandibular joint problem. 3) if chest pain is not relieved consult a physician.

My teeth colour is yellowish what to do?

BDS
Dentist,
My teeth colour is yellowish what to do?
Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

Every 6 months one should go for teeth cleaning, there is no age limit for implant unless you are medically compromised. Root canal treatment can b advised if the decay is very deep reaching upto the last layer of the tooth, to avoid for lodgement. You can use a floss or a proxa brush.
